Spending only matter when a Democrat is in office - even Dick Cheney knows this. :ugeek:
You live a very sheltered life if you think there are any conservatives that were happy with Bush's spending. :coffee:
I'm well aware. BTW, when was the last time the Republican party = conservative? Talk is cheap, and cut tax and spenders keep winning Republican nominations. :coffee:

Classic example. Voted for the Bush tax cuts, creation of the department of Homeland Security, and war funding. Rhetorically though, he's very, very, very anti-deficit and fiscally conservative.

Do you really think the rest of the tax cut and spend Republicans are forcing him out because he voted for cutting taxes and spending? :D

You offer Jim Bunning who is NOT winning a Republican nomination. You also say there are many more... you haven't given one yet.

Not really in agreement, I'd just like to see you drinking piss. Me, I'd call him the CinC instead of drinking piss, even if it were my own piss, bold yet understated, delicately fragrant with hints of blackberry and forest........:

Things do seem a little more under control in Afghanistan than they were under the last CinC.:coffee:

And we did just take down a big fish in Pakistan with their help. :coffee:

So even though the current douchebag is pretty much a copy of the previous douchebag, he does seem to be getting at least some results, unlike his predecessor, the Dead-or-Alive, Deserter CinC........

Riiiiiiight, because Bunning hasn't won a nomination before. In fact, nearly every Republican in office has won a nomination. :thumb:

As for further examples, I guessing there were very few Republicans who didn't vote for the Bush tax cuts and brought unneccessary pork home to the constituents. Christ, right now their bitching about Obama's deficit while attending ribbon cutting ceremonies for stimulus projects.

Both parties do it but some of us recognize that the Repbulicans tend to be a little more hypocritical.

When you quote an article that has this line, it loses any credibility:

"Another would be the catastrophic consequences of unchecked climate change, potentially more devastating than a world war"

And this is yet another article that fashionably mentions that our big deficit during WWII was a good thing because it grew the middle class. Yeah, our economy grew at the expense of millions and millions of people's lives and the destruction of all of our competitors.

Say, let's do it again!!!!

Bunning was a two term Senator and was forced out this go round, so he obviously isn't one who "keeps winning Republican nominations". You still haven't provided an example.

Serously, if you believe, as does the author, that running up huge deficits is the way to go, and then using WWII government spending as an example of the success of deficits, then it is you who is the uninformed child. The ONLY reason we dominated the world for three decades was that we were the only industiral country left standing. Easy to produce huge amounts of materials to be sold worldwide when the whole world is forced to buy from us.

Is that hard to understand? Answer the question. :coffee:

No.
Throughout recorded history economies have grown at the expense of lives and by the destruction of competitors. It's the way things have always been done, albeit we have scaled things up considerably......China would be a textbook case of a modern-day example, lots of people dying early from the pollution of coal-fired factories, working hard to destroy their biggest competitor.........and just who the hell are you to contradict Dick Cheney when he says deficits don't matter? Like I'd take the word of a nobody like you over the word of a great American who had enough class to shoot a lawyer.
