Rodney Stuckey Taken Out On Stretcher
Stuckey is being attended to by paramedics right now during the Pistons/Cavs game. Looks like he had a seizure.

Did they show it on TV?

They showed him walking to the bench, but then the camera cut away. A trainer or coach saw him collapse a few seconds later while on the bench. They took him off in an ambulance.
Pistons had a 9 point lead too. Cavs have come back and have a 7 point lead now that Stuckey's gone. Lucky fuckers.

Is there a history of seizures for Stuckey? I know with this being the 20th anniversary of Gather's death, they take anything like this very serious. Hoping he's fine...Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Stuckey is being attended to by paramedics right now during the Pistons/Cavs game. Looks like he had a seizure.

Stuckey was wheeled off the court on a stretcher after he collapsed into a coach's arms on the bench. Play was halted for 12 minutes as the medical staff worked on him, placing an oxygen mask on his face and wheeling him into an ambulance.

ESPN reported at the half of the Spurs/Hornets that Stuckey will not fly back with the Pistons to Detroit, but will be kept overnight as a precaution in Cleveland. Vital signs are still stable.

Preliminary reports are that he is fine...

Seems like he had a major seizure before halftime of a game last year. Missed two games.
Vital signs stable but he is conscious and breathing on his own, per ESPN. Was able to communicate and talk with his family. Staying in Cleveland hospital for the evening for observation.

Re: Rodney Stuckey Taken Out On Stretcher
The above link from the Detroit Free Press has been updated. Stuckey is out of the hospital and is on his way back to Detroit. The link did not say, but safe to assume that the Pistons trainer or assistant trainer is accompanying him (most NBA teams do this when a player is left behind). Unclear at this time as to how many games Stuckey will miss, if any. As I stated before, he did miss two games due to a seizure last year.

Detroit Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey is expected to play Friday night, two weeks after collapsing on the bench during a game.
Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars says Stuckey practiced well on Thursday and expects him to play at Indiana.
Stuckey was out of the lineup Tuesday night against the Cavaliers, missing his sixth straight game since he went off the court on a stretcher and was taken to a hospital during a March 5 game at Cleveland.
Doctors cleared Stuckey for exercise last week after extensive cardiac tests.
Stuckey missed two games last season after experiencing dizziness. The guard has insisted he's not worried about the same problems happening again.
Re: Rodney Stuckey Taken Out On Stretcher
Is it just me, or are such seizures and similar health issues much more prevalent in basketball players?
Or at least, it seems like the only instances I hear of athletes suffering those problems are with basketball players.

While see your point, I think that there are quite a few reports of football players having health problems. Usually in August.JayJ79 wrote:Is it just me, or are such seizures and similar health issues much more prevalent in basketball players?

The football problems are usually heat related, whereas the basketball problems often seem to be genetic.
