Yeah, that's exactly the part I'm talking about reconciling within about. It don't make me happy but we gotta put up with it from others if we want the same things extended to us.ToTheLeft wrote:I get what you're saying. They are careful about how they protest because they are well practiced in the art.
I am sure they earned their stripes protesting abortion.
Back several years ago when I was a new police supervisor in West Ashley in Charleston, I had to go over and monitor our local abortion clinic to make sure the protesters weren't breaking any laws. There is this one guy, I cannot remember his name, but he used to walk around with some pretty grotesque pictures. People were complaining that he was blocking the sidewalk (which he had a habit of doing when the police weren't around). His M.O. was to approach police with his video camera and try to entice them into doing something dumb, like taking his signs away.
One Saturday morning I was sitting near the clinic watching everything that was going on, and the guy came up to me and started insulting me personally; really nasty stuff. I told him to go about his business protesting abortion and get the fvck out of my face. I kept my disinterested face on and he left, but I was literally seething inside. This cock$ucker had me wanting to reach down his throat and pull his fvcking balls out between his teeth. The ironic thing is that I actually agreed with him on the subject, albeit for more humanistic reasons than religious ones.
That's how these people operate. They intentionally get under your skin and try to provoke a response. When you DO respond, they have a battery of lawyers just waiting to slap a lien on your car and your house. I think that if (as hard as it might be) people just ignore them (and I mean REALLY ignore them- don't even acknowledge their presence) they will go away. They do this for the attention they get, and the passive aggressive satisfaction of getting under peoples' skin.
Now that I'm not a cop anymore, someday if I ever see that cock$ucking paper hanger in Charleston I am going to beat him like the fvcking family mule and then leave him bleeding in the gutter, wondering who that crazy fvcker was that knocked his last three teeth out.

Yes, of course, but not at your child's funeral.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:Yeah, that's exactly the part I'm talking about reconciling within about.
