3. The commentators said this was the biggest win in our school history. Maybe it is because I am a football guy, but for me, that first FCS playoff win against W. Kentucky in 2003 is up there.
4. I am billing this website for a new keyboard...youngterrier didn't exactly use a light touch when he was posting during the game. I think he took 2 years off the life of this thing... I am also glad YT has found a great FCS home here.

Most brutal game I've ever watched in person. WoCo's D was outstanding, and ASU never tried to exploit their size. I'm not going to talk about the refs because they didn't hold the offense to 29% shooting. Good luck and congrats to WoCo, glad a football member won it. Happy with the prospects for ASU next season...most thought this would be a wash of a season.

Re: SoCon basketball
This is a bit off topic, but what is the deal concerning the correct pronunciation for the mountain range in the eastern US. Is it app-uh-LATCH-un or app-uh-LAY-shun? I have heard it both ways from people (including teachers and the ESPN announcers last night). So which one is correct? Or are they both acceptable? I have always used the LATCH one myself.
Re: SoCon basketball
Probably either - I know there are about 16K people on campus in Boone that prefer LATCH and a whole lot of alumni scattered around the country who bristle with the LAY pronunciation.woffordgrad94 wrote:This is a bit off topic, but what is the deal concerning the correct pronunciation for the mountain range in the eastern US. Edit: Wiki (for what it's worth) shows either one.....
The Appalachian Mountains ( ˌæpəˈleɪʃɨn (help·info) or /ˌæpəˈlætʃɨn/), often called the Appalachians, are a vast system of mountains in eastern North America. Definitions vary on the precise boundaries of the Appalachians. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) defines the Appalachian Highlands physiographic division as consisting of thirteen provinces: the Atlantic Coast Uplands, Eastern Newfoundland Atlantic, Maritime Acadian Highlands, Maritime Plain, Notre Dame And Megantic Mountains, Western Newfoundland Mountains, Piedmont, Blue Ridge, Valley and Ridge, Saint Lawrence Valley, Appalachian Plateaus, New England province, and the Adirondack provinces.[3][4] A common variant definition does not include the Adirondack Mountains, which are often said to have more in common with the Canadian Shield than the Appalachians.[5][6][7]

Another - seems both are correct, but the Southerners are RIGHT

The commentators also talked about the Big East tourney a chunk during the game.ASUG8 wrote:Good win for the Terrierists - I wish you luck in the NCAA's![]()
I told my wife with about 5 min left that we didn't deserve to win the game even though momentum had shifted in our direction. Wofford's D was exceptional, completely shutting down two guys who scored 30+ in the prior 2 games.
To jump on the commentator bashing - they were shifting from "app-uh-LATCH-un" to "app-uh-LAY-shun" all night - just pick one. Also, if you can't find anything to say, just make something up instead of repeating the same things over and over. After the 1500th time, it finally sunk in that this would be Wofford's first NCAA appearance or App's third. Jeez......definitely minor league commentary, but you can't argue with the results on the court. I'd like to see the Terriers go deep in the tourney.

Re: SoCon basketball
Yup...way to much dribbling around the perimeter for ASU...Sims and Brand couldn't create anything off the dribble, and Josh Hunter couldn't buy a free throw. I posted this on the MMB, but I'm stoked for next season. This season (simple stats) we really improved, with essentially the same team.Appaholic wrote:Agree...ASUMountaineer wrote:Most brutal game I've ever watched in person. Wofford deserved the win...seriously, when we got within striking distance, how many trips down thecourt did we manufacture 0 pts after our defense held their offense in check..

Although, I've heard most alumns prefer Appy as well.ASUMountaineer wrote:What ASUG8 said.woffordgrad94 wrote:This is a bit off topic, but what is the deal concerning the correct pronunciation for the mountain range in the eastern US. However, when referring to THE Appalachian State Universitythe only pronunciation is app-uh-LATCH-un.

I'll take "Appy" in the championship game over "Eliminated"GSUhooligan wrote:Although, I've heard most alumns prefer Appy as well.ASUMountaineer wrote:
