I'll give you this much, there is a real "Johnson" aspect to your persona on here.
Shit, I go to E-Griz for one second and you beat me to a dick joke about AZ.

Not entirely out of the realm of possibility. Griz could be a 14 or a 15 depending on how everything else plays out. Nova could get a 3, maybe a 2 depending on their showing in the Big East tourney. Only thing left is how to get them in the same region.

Not that I want the Griz to be 'Nova's bitch again, but it would be a good storyline.
I wonder if the NCAA has any flair for the dramatic?

In all the AJ hoopla, let's not forget the performance of Brian Qvale. Qvale didn't do much offensively, but was an absolute force on the other end (6 blocks, 14 boards).
UMT 66-65 WEB; Griz come back from a 22-point deficit to earn their 4th. NCAA trip in the last 9 years
Anthony Johnson scores a Tournament record & Montana single-game record 42 points
Johnson scored UM's last 21 points & didn't miss during that stretch
The Griz outshot Weber 70%-28% in the second half
Brian Qvale got 6 blocks and grabbed 14 rebounds in a great defensive performance
Regular-season MVP Damian Lillard had 16 points to lead the Wildcats
Derek Selvig (UMT) Damian Lillard (WEB) Franklin Session (WEB) Will Figures (UNC) Julius Thomas (PSU)
MVP - Anthony Johnson (UMT)
He's got no business being on the All Tourney team. Should be Qvale. Not sure what Sessions did in game #1, but he single handedly cost Weber this game...how in the HELL do you get to college and shoot free throws as poorly as this young man?

Weber was up twenty (42-22) with 18:31 left in the second half; Griz outscored them 44-23 the rest of the way. So yeah, I'd say they pulled an SDSU.
weber was up 40-18 just prior to the end of the 1st half.
Have to admit, made for good ESPN fodder. Talking about it more and more. Good exposure for the Big Sky.

Here in the AZ, when they announced on sports-talk radio that two teams had punched their tickets to "the dance" they said "Robert Morris & Montana, who came from 20 down at the half to stun Weber State!" Then they played the last 10 seconds of audio from the game....fuckin' AWESOME.
Weber Fan---get off the ledge.

Is there any chance at all Weber gets an at-large? Or at least a bid in one of the lower-tier tournaments? A 20-win season is nothing to sneeze at.
And UNC has an even better argument with 24 wins.

BSC has never been, and never WILL be a two bid league.

The last few years, some surprising conferences snared a second bid due to the backlash against 15-win B(C)$ers messing up the show. I wouldn't be surprised if the BSC joined that group if the trend continues. There's no guarantee that it will, of course, but given what I've seen on the boards this year, Weber and UNC have a better argument than anyone in the Big West outside of UOP. (And UNC has a MUCH better argument than even UOP.)

No Big Sky or Big West team will even sniff an at-large berth.
UOP would have a shot given their recent history in the NCAAs, but it will likely be irrelevant as I believe they will get the BWC auto-bid. UOP is the ONLY BWC school with a shot at taking an at-large, though in all likelihood, you are correct, Jon.
The BSC schools with a chance are Weber and UNC, though it will NOT be both. I believe I heard something about the second-place team being guaranteed an NIT shot if they don't get an at-large. Logically, would that not move down the list should Weber get an at-large? Either way, both schools seem to have the firepower to at least make some noise in lower-tier tournaments. Nobody knows how UNC would handle the Dance because they haven't been there before. But given history, should Weber get the chance, I think we're assured of a good showing at least, win or lose.
Odds are, you are right, Jon. But I think the chance is at least there for Weber and UNC (if not MSU) to have SOME sort of post-season experience on a larger stage.
