Virginia, which has been under Democratic leadership for the past 8 years with a mostly Republican legislature (not sure when Dems got control of the State senate), is the #1 managed state and #1 for business in rankings by Forbes and CNBC. (Texas being #2 in that last category). In 2007, kids born in Virginia were more likely to be successful than any other state in the country (not sure if rankings have been re-done since then).ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote:In my first post I stated that the conservative state of Texas was ran better than most other states.
Nobody commented on that, they did comment on:

Fort Sumter

Hussein Obama
Approval ratings
Parenting

So I will take it as a win.
You lose.

Texas roads are the best in the nation, even better than the surrounding states with similar oil & gas wealth to support the roads.
The drivers are better, too. As far as I know its the only state where they are actually taught to pull over for faster traffic and not block the left lane.

So you got a link for your one inch of rain claim? I don't think so. I lived in TX for a couple of years 00'-02' and never heard of county having a disaster declared because of an inch of rain (or 2 or 3). Certainly not either of the ones I lived in or a 3rd I worked in. Guess you're just pulling that one out of your arse as per your usual MO.

What numbers did I pull out of my ass?
Let me know because I will either provide a source or admit I was wrong.

No you simply stated:Skjellyfetti wrote:BDKJMU wrote:
Ist you said 22%. Then you upped it to 25%. You want to keep pulling #s out of your arse?![]()
Bush was at 34% in Gallup when he left office:

So I will argue 12 points (you said 22 when it was 34).
Let's recap.
I said Bush's lowest approval rating (not when he left office) was 22% It was:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/01/ ... 8399.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You didn't say when or what poll. You just said 22%. If you want to play that game then I could talk about Obama having a 37% approval rating. After all, on about 1/2 doz days in Jan and 10 days in Feb Rasmussen daily tracking had him between 37-39%.Skjellyfetti wrote:Though, do let me know if Obama drops to 22% approval rating like your boy, GWB.

If you're going to throw out some specific #, then you need to state what poll and when.

I wasn't throwing out any polls... I was just stating what Bush's bottom was.BDKJMU wrote:

And, you should relook at that Rasmussen page. He doesn't have him between 37-39% at all. Not sure what you're looking at. But you should be looking at the "Total Approve" column... and he's not 37-39%.

Actually, a close look at Rasmussen only offers more bad news for your boy, skelly. Whether or not Obama ever hit 37% in Rasmussen's "Total Approve" column, his real ratings are far worse than the current mid-40's "Total Approve" might suggest, since his 41% "Strongly Disapprove" is 14 points higher than his lowly 27% "Strongly Approve."Skjellyfetti wrote:I wasn't throwing out any polls... Obamacare is in far worse shape than it's mid-40's approval rating for the same reason. The 41% who strongly oppose the plan are more than double the 20% who strongly support it. This leads Rasmussen to ask whether national Democrats are "...on a kamikaze mission to pass their health care reform plan and destroy themselves at the polls in November?... "

Re: Texas needs to go ahead and secede
Does it really matter if it was 22% or 25%?
