Re: Montana at Weber State Game Thread
Montana has beaten Weber 18 out of the last 20 times they've played, including the last 9. In fact, they are 35-11 overall in the last 46 years.
My money's on the Griz...but I think it'll be close. There hasn't been a true blowout in this series since 2002 in Ogden, when the Griz prevailed 39-7.

Another thing: Weber looked horrible against Utah, scoring twice in the last 7 minutes to make the score look respectable. They looked good against Hawaii, but they are Hawaii's ONLY win, hell, Hawaii lost to San Jose State (who we all know had to rally to beat UC Davis).
Food for thought....

Well, I'm happy Big Sky fans are able to claim a "moral" victory in staying close to App....... ...BTW, what's the exchange rate on "moral" victories.....how many "moral" victories relative to actual victoriesdoes a team need to reach the playoffs?putter wrote:Yes it does!! Actually, coming from an App fan is surprising because the Mountaineers played 2 Big Fluff teams last year and got all you wanted in both games. It is a 3-1 exchange rate. If the Dow comes back today it could go to 2.5-1.Appaholic wrote:Well, I'm happy Big Sky fans are able to claim a "moral" victory in staying close to App....... ...BTW, what's the exchange rate on "moral" victories.....how many "moral" victories relative to actual victoriesdoes a team need to reach the playoffs?putter wrote: Yes it does!! Agreed - plus McBride (WSU coach, former Utah coach) was honored before the game for his contributions to the Utah football team -something tells me Utah didn't want to embarrass him on the day they honored him. And Hawaii is not good this year, so we have no idea how good or bad WSU is - although they have some good athletes.AZGrizFan wrote:Another thing: Weber looked horrible against Utah, scoring twice in the last 7 minutes to make the score look respectable. Re: Montana at Weber State Game Thread
ok people game day is upon us. T-Minus 5.5 hours until kick off. My camping deal fell through so I am here making food for the game. I cannot wait for this contest to begin. I get to find out just how good the defense of the Grizzlies is and if the running game is back on track. There will be some big hits, and I am sure Colt will be hand out a few.
Cannot wait.

See, I wasn't insane for having Weber @ #9 in my AGS ballot.
Seriously, though, Weber's a really good team & the Griz D didn't show up. A dumb pick in the 2nd. quarter, stupid personal fouls in the second half, RBs not pass blocking, and a few key dropped passes made things worse.

Re: Montana at Weber State Game Thread
Personally I think this loss is a blessing in disguise(sp). It will pull the players and coaches down from the clouds. It will also make them think about how TO's have caused a lot of problems in the last two games for the Griz. Not very many teams can overcome 4 or 5 TO's in a game and still win. I would guess the Griz players will learn a lot, obviously they didn't from CWU, from watching this game tape. I know the excuses are that they are young and the coaching staff sucks this and that but they will learn from their mistakes and be better for it.
Time to start preparing for EWU.

The Grizzlies played the EXACT same game as they did against Central Washington.grizzaholic wrote:Personally I think this loss is a blessing in disguise(sp). Trevyn Smith is a BEAST. Combine his hard, downhill running with Montana's pathetic arm tackling and you've got a recipe for disaster.

Re: Montana at Weber State Game Thread
NEWS FLASH::: A man answering only to Wolfman was arrested early Sunday morning in a local park. He was masturbating feverishly to a little portable TV that was playing a looped reel of the Montana Grizzlies, a local college football team, vs Weber State Wildcats football game. The game was played on Saturday in Utah and the Grizzlies lost by a large margin. The man was naked and covered with baby oil. All he kept muttering was, " I was right, I was right" and " Bobby Hauck should be fired, he sucks". The police had to restrain him for fear he would stain the back seat of the police cruiser. The man was not taken to jail but to a local hospital experienced with dealing with deranged people.
One comment was released by the police department. It stated that they all felt sorry for this individual and wished him a speedy recovery.
