Re: Tiger to return to the Masters
I haven't heard a word about him practicing (golf
) over the last few months, and it would be difficult for him to just show up at some course without the media all over him. I wonder what kind of condition he's in right now....

He says he back in playing condition. I'm sure he's been practicing this whole time.ASUG8 wrote:I haven't heard a word about him practicing (golf) over the last few months, and it would be difficult for him to just show up at some course without the media all over him. Re: Tiger to return to the Masters
I think if there is anyone in golf who can pull a win like this out of their ass just out of sheer determination (cuz we know he has the physical goods, even if they might be a bit rusty), it's Tiger.
How funny would it be if he won The Masters after everything that has been going on with him in his personal life and time away from the golf course? Everyone else in the PGA should just quit if he wins.

I thought they all should have quit after he won the US Open with a broken leg.bandl wrote:I think if there is anyone in golf who can pull a win like this out of their ass just out of sheer determination (cuz we know he has the physical goods, even if they might be a bit rusty), it's Tiger.

Re: Tiger to return to the Masters
I remember it being said that Augusta National has an insane tight grip on what media could be there and the crowds are traditional golf fans so the media circus and the crowd circus will be much more tame than any other tournament.
I'm glad he's coming back. Couldn't give less of a shit about who he porked. That's between him, his friends, his family and his wife. Winning is one thing that can heal his PR face.

His personal life is his personal life. I'm not his wife and I don't look to him as something I aspire to be so I can certainly put aside what he did. What he did was extremely disrespectful to his wife and his children, but that's for them to deal with. I like to see him play golf and I'll be rooting for him to be there at the end.

According to interviews from a couple other golfers that have golfed with him in the last month or so say he looks just as good as ever on the course. Imagine what a pissed of Tiger Woods could do...he could win this this by 15 this yearASUG8 wrote:I haven't heard a word about him practicing (golf) over the last few months, and it would be difficult for him to just show up at some course without the media all over him. No better way to storm back on the scene than to finally win the grandslam.bandl wrote:I think if there is anyone in golf who can pull a win like this out of their ass just out of sheer determination (cuz we know he has the physical goods, even if they might be a bit rusty), it's Tiger.

Re: Tiger to return to the Masters
Its funny, the other day I saw an article and skimmed it over. Talking about how rivalries have re-emerged in Tigers absence and saying golf can survive without him.... My first thought was "The PGA season started?"bandl wrote:I think if there is anyone in golf who can pull a win like this out of their ass just out of sheer determination (cuz we know he has the physical goods, even if they might be a bit rusty), it's Tiger.

I think I have saw one PGA highlight from a tournament this year...and it was because a guy took 3 shots to get out of a mud hole.UNHWildCats wrote:Its funny, the other day I saw an article and skimmed it over. I'm going to love how critics and so-called experts are going to debate how he's handled his return and saying he's hiding behind Augusta National and such. If he wins, no one will give a fuck. He could celebrate with Jenna Jameson and the Naked Cowboy in Times Square and most everything will be about him winning and the other two will get crucified in the media.

I liked what Tom on Parks & Rec said in last week's episode. (paraphrasing) "I used to be a huge Tiger Woods fan before the whole scandal, but after hearing about those women, I think he's a god."

OT, but that show has gotten progressively better every week. That's really a powerhouse lineup Parks & Rec --> The Office --> 30 RockASUMountaineer wrote:I liked what Tom on Parks & Rec said in last week's episode. I'll just be glad when people stfu up about him. Let him play golf, his fucking personal life is NOBODY'S business. He doesn't owe us SHIT.

Totally agree with that.Willie wrote:I'll just be glad when people stfu up about him. Let him play golf, his fucking personal life is NOBODY'S business. He doesn't owe us SHIT.
The one thing I would like to see is a little better demeanor on the course. The constant dropping of F bombs and throwing clubs is not really the best way to introduce kids to the game. Other than that, I really like the guy.

Cool, then you should start a childrens' foundation, and whenever your boss or a client raises an eyebrow when you drop a bomb, just tell them how much you do for kids with your foundation.danefan wrote:I think that's why I like him though.....he drops as many F bombs as I do.93henfan wrote:

The old "look how much my foundation does" excuse....works every time.

Good for him, I hope he doesn't change a god damn thing. His demeanor on the course is rooted in passion for the game and he may be a little too passionate once in a while but even if a kid were to hear a swear word once in a while it ain't gonna affect em' one bit. Does any of that stuff get out over the air anyway?

Agree who cares about who he screws (as long as he doesn't try to continue to pimp this wholesome image- that's what annoyed a lot of people).93henfan wrote:Totally agree with that.Willie wrote:I'll just be glad when people stfu up about him. Tiger's a whiny little bitch though throwing tantrums about photographers snapping pics or some little background noise when he's teeing up.Ursus A. I'm glad to see him finally coming back but I can't see him winning the whole thing. I didn't think he was in true Tiger form all last year coming back from his surgery. I think it'll take him a little while to get back into the swing of things (pun intended)
