Not really a surprise, especially after last night's NIT performance. Too many players out of control.

St. Anthony coach Bob Hurley Sr. would listen if Seton Hall came calling about vacant coaching job
By Steve Politi/The Star-Ledger

Every time a college job has opened in this state, Bob Hurley Sr. has been asked the same question.
And every time, he’s answered with a “no” faster than his St. Anthony High defense closes in on a ballhandler.
But Wednesday? He actually paused before he answered. He hemmed and hawed for a few seconds, and then said the words that are the only good news on a disastrous day for Seton Hall.
“I would listen to the people at Seton Hall about the job,” Hurley said in a phone interview Wednesday.

Its got to be his perfect job. No move necessary and he'd probably be able to keep most of the his players from St. Anthony's that would normally go to Duke.

His son Danny (St. Benedicts Prep) is a Seton Hall grad. He could be groomed for the job.

The Hall was so good when I was growing up, late 80's early 90's, its a shame to see them fall this far.
What is P.J doing these days??? Maybe he will come back.
Hurley is a tremendous coach, but a college coach has to do so many other things than just coach basketballl. Is he ready and willing to do all that ansulary stuff?
One thing is certain at least-- the guy can recruit!!!!

If there's any high school coach ready to handle the additional duties its Hurley. I mean he pretty much runs the St. Anthony's program like a college program. And like you said - he certainly can recruit.Franks Tanks wrote:The Hall was so good when I was growing up, late 80's early 90's, its a shame to see them fall this far.

PJ (originally from Wagner) is interested in returning to college coaching. He has been rumored for the Oregon job. I would love to see him back at Seton Hall.

Would this move return the University of New Jersey...to New Jersey?
