Obama's Great Fox Mistake
From Tom Bevan on Real Clear Politics:
"...It was a mistake by the President to go on Fox last night and I do not think he helped himself or his cause with the interview. Obama came across as both dismissive and non-responsive to Brett Baier's insistent questioning about the process..."

Who would have thought that in my lifetime we'd have a Democrat president that made Jimmy Carter look like a friggin' genius.

Baier got some criticism for the interview, but I thought he was properly respectful while being professionally persistent in substantive questions.youngterrier wrote:I'm watching/listening to it now and Baier's Kicking tail (and these are softball questions)

The Prez is a boor. Yes, Baier interrupted, but respectfully, and only after Body Odor droned on and on in persistent dismissive and non-responsive fashion. What question did Baier ask that you considered insubstantial?

Meh. All of them. It's no big deal, considering the source, but it's obvious that the reporter was told to get out there be provacative. It makes sense, after all, nobody watches Faux News for the intellectual content.native wrote:I did see the interview. What did you see differently, dawg?houndawg wrote:

A reporter that doesn't ask tough questions is doing his profession a disservice. I do doubt that Baier had tingles running up his leg.houndawg wrote:Meh. All of them. I give Obama credit for going on the interview. On the other hand, after watching it he either needs to be prepared next time or stick with Matthews

I agree that Obama deserves credit for doing an interview with Fox, but I think he did it only in desperation because he does not have the votes yet to pass his ridiculous health care bill.OL FU wrote:A reporter that doesn't ask tough questions is doing his profession a disservice. If by "prepared," you mean Obama should have been able to offer substantive answers to reasonable and relevant questions ...

Re: Obama's Great Fox Mistake
You know I always enjoy political discussions as long as there is something close to factual discussion. Back in September I believe, Harry Reid had his 60th vote with Olympia Snow using a public option trigger. Harry went to the White House and The Pres said let's go. Harry said no, I can get the public option without the trigger and instead of the Pres. looking him in the eye and calling him the fool that he is and telling him to take the deal that is out there, he let him go. Next day Reid announced that he was going for the public option and his 60 vote majority fell apart. This could have been done 6 months ago with a bill that was much more to the liberals liking if Reid wasn't a dunce and the President hadn't been a puss.houndawg wrote:Thinking never has been your strong point, Najib. Nobody ever went broke misunderestimating the intelligence of the American public. Truly amazing that so many believe insurance companies will place customers health before quarterly profits.

I don't think any body believes that any more than they believe the farmer's only interest is making sure they have food on their table or the government is simple looking out for the people (well they are looking out for their votes

NEWSFLASH:
If you look in the dictionary under the term "ideologue", you will find a picture of Barack Obama. By nature, ideologues do not reach out to the other side for any reason other than to pull the other person to their way of thinking.
Obama and the Donks own the Presidency AND Congress. The only reason they can't get anything done is because the Donks are in full implosion mode right now.

What's much more amazing is that so many idiots believe the government will place it's citizens health before a cost - benefit analysis.

I understand how insurance companies make their money. It is certainly to have premium exceed claims.houndawg wrote:Insurance companies make their money by not paying after getting your premiums.OL FU wrote:'

With respect to bankruptcies, since when was the purpose of insurance companies to pay 100% of someone's costs. Is that what the new bill is requiring?

Nothing to do with Fox news interview but seems like the next step after this passes is that some states will take some of the more aggregious provisions with respect to the consitution to the SCOTUS and CJ Roberts will give Obama the OL FU ( so to speak

Who said anything about paying 100%? I'm thinking more along the lines of dropping coverage on the insured after accepting premiums, stalling, that sort of thing. Last spring's disaster here was a real eye opener for many of the locals around here.OL FU wrote:I understand how insurance companies make their money.
