Portland State at NAU Game Thread
Run and Shoot comes to the Skydome.
How will NAU's D hold up?

Re: Portland State at NAU Game Thread
Well, considering (based on last weeks game) there's very little RUN in the Run-n-Shoot, I'd say NAU's DB's better be on the lookout! PSU's QB threw 73 TIMES against EWU!!! Without a single interception!
Is it possible to drop 11 into coverage?

NAU will have a lot more trouble stopping the Vikings than Sac, SUU, or UNC, but the 'Jacks will still win because of Portland's lousy defense.

Re: Portland State at NAU Game Thread
Biggest beef with PSU has been they haven't been able to adjust and correct quick enough to save games. They've got plenty of talent, speed, athleticism, etc...but both O&D have made some big mistakes each game that often become unrecoverable.
That said, it's going to be a good game. PSU's Hubel has started settling down and is clicking with the R&G, the O-Line has firmed up, so protection looks solid, and one of the wink links, broken coverages, are starting to dissappear, so all things considered, there's no obvious gaps to exploit. Ability to convert 3rd down is critical, so they better watch for the blitz on 3rd's all day long, just as CSUS did to them.
With NAU showing one of the strongest teams and D's they've fielded in a while, this should be a great game.

The PSU offense scares the crap outta me - I hope we can contain them.

If PSU's receivers stick to their patterns, watch out.dbackjon wrote:The PSU offense scares the crap outta me - I hope we can contain them.

FCS opponents are negative, total.
Sac State had the most, 21 yards.
