Looking back on UNI's win

UNI's victory over UNLV was just the second win in 20 years for UNI in the NCAA tourney. UNI has won twice by three points each time, and lost 4 times by 5 and once by 3. The last time UNI won we were a 14 playing a 3 seed Missouri. That game ended on a buzzer beating three pointer by Maurice Newby, which spawned the famous words around the Cedar Valley...OH NEWBY! 20 years later OH NEWBY has been replaced with KABOOM! You have surely saw or heard many UNI fans use KABOOM. It is the catch phrase for UNI's PXP guy Gary Rima.


So the two wins are similar on paper...but just look how close to being identical the two shots really were

Clearly places the MVC as the premier non-BCS basketball conference in all the land. I think this is the 4th sweet 16 for the MVC in the last 5 years.
