This from e-griz:
Wide receiver Marc Mariani (6-0 7/8, 189) ran 4.48 and 4.49 in the 40, had a 36.5-inch vertical leap, 10-2 broad jump, 4.25 short shuttle, 6.84 three-cone drill and completed 11 repetitions of 225 pounds. Mariani looked good in position drills as well.
So Mariani's taller, has better hands, better vertical, basically just as fast and he's considered in the PFA range?

:coffee: :coffee:

Sounds to me like AE is still livin' off that Michigan win. :coffee:

armanti is faster, stronger, jumps farther, and can run around plastic cones quicker.

who cares about measurables, look at the production

Yeah, where he played QB, not receiver. Perhaps it says something about Mariani that he spent four more years at receiver than AE, yet pro scouts are not as high on him. Perhaps it's the two national championships, the two Payton awards, or some sort of intangiables that we don't look at. Just throwing out some possible answers to your question. :coffee:
Or perhaps it's the fact that, on the biggest stage in the biggest games of their respective careers, Armanti was able to drive his team down the field with no TO's to set up a go ahead score in a hostile FBS stadium, yet Mariani was unable to shake coverage & registered zero receptions for the entire 2nd half of a national championship game....just sayin'... :coffee:

If they both make it in the NFL (and I believe they will), my money is on Mariani having better career stats.

If I recall correctly, your money was also on John McCain for President and the Suns to beat the Spurs in the first round of the playoffs.

...& Montana was gonna try not to embarrass Nova

but seriously, if I was a betting man, I'd take Mariani as well just due to size, position he's played for 4 years, & durability.....I hope I lose that bet & they both prove more than worthy at the next level.. :thumb:

Someone (now who could that have been? :D ) started a thread over at the Colts Forum (http://forum.colts.com/showthread.php?5 ... a-heads-up) about AEs workout in Indy on the 30th.
There's a fine young man coming in for a look on the 30th. Yall be nice to him. He's special.

His name is Armanti Edwards. He's Money

Folks want to turn him into a KR/WR. If that's what it will take to stick, he'll do it. But he's a quarterback, and a really good fit for the Indy offense.

Let Peyton take him under his wing. You'll be glad you did!

You might find some of the comments interesting. I was going to go all 'snarky' on them but decided to let it be (You know ..... how a 'diminutive' QB tore them a new anus in the last SB - LOL).

The upside for AE is his experience in the no-huddle and his accuracy on the slants and deep outs. Plus, Bill Polian has known to be a bit 'unconventional' at times and AE could fill multiple roles for them.

Thought yall might have fun with this .... be nice

I don't recall the Suns/Spurs thing. :coffee:

Hey, old man... go post this in the Mariani thread.

Oh wait, he doesn't have one.

Kinda sad when noone on an FCS board cares about the kid. :(
