Sarah was a poor choice as a running mate. I was considering McCain until this sociopath was chosen. Everytime I ask a republican to explain how Sarah is qualified, you know what the response is?

Give me a good answer on how Sarah is qualified and do not bring Obama into it. I doubt it can be done but I have an open mind.

Give me a good answer about how Obama is qualified (besides "well, he's a motivating speaker" or bringing Palin into it).

Since it appears that Obama will win the election... ...I have to wonder...

How long until his ability to "motivate" people clashes with his inability to move legislation...

The House is constantly in election mode...how many will vote for his big tax & spend policies knowing they face the electorate in less than two years...

Az, since I'm not part of the GOP "base", I gotta tell you that Palin does not motivate me...she has done an excellent job in Alaska fighting the establishment and winning...but the DC establishment is the pros, and Alaska is single A level...And Senator McCain has the albatross of Bush around his neck...

Obama has spent some time in national politics, dealing with foreign and domestic affairs. He wants to fund the troops as long as there is a time table to bring them home.

He's pretty to look at.

Your turn.

Obama's defense policy on his web site looks pretty good...but let's face facts...

With the economy where it is right now, he's going to have to make serious cuts in his grand spending list...and as a liberal, the first place he's going to cut is defense...happens each and every time...

That's because his base could care less about defense, and he's going to take care of his base at all costs...

So, Mark, if you think Obama will be good for defense, I'd recommend you take a reall good look at his top priorities (defense is not among them) because those are the places what little money he can squeeze out will go...

Doens't matter than most of them are not Constitutionally sound, like defense is...

Long term you are probably correct, but short term, he will have no problem....Democrats will gain more seats in this election and know that, unlike 2006 when they thought electorates rejection of Bush was approval of their policies, the electorate is expecting some clean-up and will be looking to Obama's administration to drive this change......a 15% approval rating, gaining seats in Congress and winning the executive branch will not allow for any excuses from Dems.....the electorate will turn them out just like the Repubs 2 years ago.....the electorate is pissed off right now....but it won't last, it never does....

3 days later...either this is a very extensive list of his leadership roles or this list is about as long as your list of "conservatives who run Hollywood" that you promised 3+ years ago.

John McCain said he wants to cut defense funding. He wasn't specific but read below. I read it as cutting spending, including in the defense sector.

McCain: Well, Fiorra, I'm going to ask the American people to understand that there are some programs that we may have to eliminate.

I first proposed a long time ago that we would have to examine every agency and every bureaucracy of government. And we're going to have to eliminate those that aren't working.

I know a lot of them that aren't working. One of them is in defense spending, because I've taken on some of the defense contractors. I saved the taxpayers $6.8 billion in a deal for an Air Force tanker that was done in a corrupt fashion.

In the end, no matter who gets elected, will face an economic problem that they have never faced before. They will face uncertainty that the have never faced before.

McCain will go after Air Force spending big time...moving that authority over to the Army and Marines...

And I might lose my AFA membership over this...I'm not all that worried about it...

But overall, defense will do better under McCain IMHO than Obama...of course, the Democratic Congress will have a say in that matter, and there, defense loses under either POTUS...

The Marine Corps has had...a few programs...like mine... be the by product of unscrupulous spending.

All kidding aside, my project(ordered by Congressman Murtha) has over $1 million in wasteful spending linked to a few prominent Pennsylvania residents and business related to Murtha.
