3.6% is a complete scam.
My rule of thumb for CFC or any other charity is 10% for administrative costs, but I also recognize that the figures can be manipulated, so I also look at what is accomplished and who does the work.
You're such a weasel.

Interesting... nowhere in any of this did I see anything identifying Hannity as a primary shareholder, registered agent, or an officer of the corporation... am I missing something or is he just a celebrity spokesperson?

Founded by Ollie North - probably uses the money to sell arms to Iran to fund rebels in Venezuela or something.

It's probably cocaine money. Take in 48 million since '03, and paid out less than 2 million, and Ollie North is involved? You can bet that some black money is being laundered.

From the pdf file referenced by Jon:
"...Listed below are the amounts that Freedom Alliance spent for each of the past three years and the categories on which they were spent. The figures are taken from our Federal Form 990 which is filed with the Internal Revenue Service and posted on our web site and audited by an independent auditor using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This financial record not only meets, but exceeds standards of program efficiency set by most charity evaluators.
In 2008, Freedom Alliance spent a total of $6,745,717. Of that:
79 percent ($5,317,970) was spent on Program Activities•
14 percent ($945,950) was spent on Fundraising•
7 percent ($481,797) was spent on Management • ..."
The filing shows similar performance figures for 2007 and 2006.
Bend over, dawg, and take it like a man.

Thanks Jon... just as I thought, he is a celebrity spokesperson and donor- not an officer, shareholder, or agent of the coporation.dbackjon wrote:Well, going to their website, first thing you see is his mugblueballs wrote:Interesting... nowhere in any of this did I see anything identifying Hannity as a primary shareholder, registered agent, or an officer of the corporation... am I missing something or is he just a celebrity spokesperson?

Their response is pretty good though.... pretty much blows holes in the blog- which now looks like a personal vendetta.

I admit that I skimmed the 990s rather quickly, but the figures they indicate in their response appears to me to be a spin (or the other way around if you want - the blog may be spinning). The question of what consituttes "Program Activities" is at the heart of the issue.
When I have some time I'll take a closer look at the 990s which IMO, do hold the answer here.

My honest guess is that both sides are spinning and parsing words. He just uses the millions of dollars to
1) Promote Himself (The great American) and his books
2) Fly around in a Gulfstream
3) Pay for all his advertisement distribution
4) Dine and stay at 5 star resorts
Of course he's smart enough to not be on the paperwork... he just spends the money

The key is:
I don't really care - he didn't steal anything from me - and there's nothing I can do either way...
It's all in good fun
I mean Rush committed a class A felony and "paid" to walk free and nobody cared
seriously:
Glenn Beck willingly converted to Mormonism - that's like getting on the titanic after it hit the iceberg...
