Let me be more clear:
The poor are his main concern and progress has been made - he's been critical of his own slow progress and how hard it is to root out the corruption

Agreed: Compared to the way we live - Venezuela is a train wreck
But: There are many reports of progress - compared to 100 years of no progress prior to his election

 There - does that work..?
It would be more accurate to say that Chavez' rhetoric supports the poor than to say that he has actually helped the poor. This is flabbergasting considering Venezuela's massive oil revenues of the past decade. What will happen when they dry up? He has not only destroyed the economic infrastructure but failed to maintain the physical infrastructure as well. There will be no free enterprise left to rob to support the controlled entitlement economy.
Well I'm not sure about that... That seems a little harsh
the poor that are interviewed express joy in the changes they have seen

The infrastructure is a bit of a problem, but that's expected because it used to be built for them by the countries that were after Venezuela's resources...

kinda like: I'll mow you lawn if you let me screw your wife...

Now that they're on their own it's a steep learning curve...
Q: Name something that offends Republicans?
A: The actual teachings of Jesus

Jeeesums Looeeezums, Cleets!

Do you believe every damm thing you read in the Communist Daily News?!? :ohno:

It's not that the poor dumbshits to whom Chavez has thrown a few loaves of bread don't really like him - they do. But do you think Chavez, his entourage, or the masses have any stinking clue about building a sustainable economy?

So you're saying that the American companies that built the physical infrastructure and created a modest, well-trained native middle class were bad, and the current regime which neglects the infrastructure and shits on the middle class is good?!??
