Does anybody else think that it is not smart to have other sporting events on Super Bowl Sunday? Last year the Griz played on Super Bowl Sunday and this year the Bobcats play on Super Bowl Sunday. I cannot see how it would get good attendance and/or people would watch the game on TV.
Any thoughts?
Super Bowl and college basketball???

As long as it doesn't compete with the SB...and no one is that dumb...I say go for it...grizzaholic wrote:Does anybody else think that it is not smart to have other sporting events on Super Bowl Sunday? I never watch the 6-hour pregame mastabatory "show" and look for other good sports to watch...

I guess I was mainly talking about college sports because they get revenue for the games that are played by way of ticket sales, food and snacks, and clothing merchandise. They sure take a hit if they play on that Sunday and not on a Monday night or Sat afternoon IMO.Col Hogan wrote:Doesn't the NBA usually have a game or two on that Sunday???

Gotcha'.....
As I think about it, maybe college sports should stay away from that day...let the NBA and SB pre-game have the afternoon to themselves...

In NC (ACC BBall country), it doesn't hurt the attendance of the basketball games. I think there is usually a Maryland - NC State game and UNC - Clemson maybe....the SB is the most ove-hyped event in the world....I'll take ACC basketball over paid prima donnas worshiping themselves any day.....
