Independent. I'm not sure I'll vote for either major party in an election for national office for the foreseeable Future.

I am not affiliated with any party and I didn't vote for either major party presidential candidate in the last election. Bush finished off as a miserable failure, McCain was very similar to Obama, and Obama just isn't working with anyone on policy besides the Democrats. Whatever happened to United States.

Independent, but generally vote for democrats as they share the majority of my political/philosophical views. I will vote for republicans, but mostly at a local government level.

I'll go independent here. I won't vote a straight ticket either way.

* Fiscal conservative
* Social moderate

I'll try and pick and choose candidates if they and I share common views - if I don't know the candidates, I don't vote for that position.

I'm registered republican mostly because my fiscal leanings are a bit stronger than my social opinions. I'll still vote cross party on certain issues. That being said, it hardly makes me a fan of Palin, Rush, or a Tea partier.

(I do like Rush....that Neil Peart is awesome :nod: )

Don't let these Lefties make you feel ashamed to say you're a registered R. I know they like to paint with a wide brush and try to lump all R's in with the Tea Party, but don't let them do that to you. We all know they are all really members of the US Socialist Party anyway. 8-)

I'm an Independent in practice, but a registered Republican. With Pennsylvania being a closed state when it comes to primary elections, registering Independent would be akin to banning myself from voting in primaries. And where I live, it's mainly Republican-heavy offices (for the local stuff like county commissioners and township officials and school board) so being any other party would again, really restrict my ability to vote in primary elections. If I lived in Philly proper, it would be silly to be anything but a Democrat - in closed states and areas where it's basically one party rule, you need to vote in the primaries to have your vote count.

Agreed - unfortunately, if you choose a party affiliation you're immediately relegated to the far extreme in a lot of cases. Moderates and Independents get no credit. :nod:

Obviously - I'm a Liberal - but it turns out
I vote about 40% Democrat
I vote about 20% Republican

and about 40% I don't care what party the person is - I have voted for Ralph Nader - I have voted for Libertarians many times as well as independents

A) I try to vote for ideas not party
B) I don't trust any of them
C) Most Politicians are easily persuaded and lie a lot

If you could stop misrepresenting Beck , you would realize that Beck does not label all Dems to be progressives or socialists or communists.

Keeping the badge. :nod:

It's United States... not United Citizens or anything. Dissent is a good thing. Dissent doesn't mean we're not all united. conservatives have one vision of the country, liberals have another. Sometimes the dialogue is retarded. We're still united, though.
