There are three special Congressional elections between now and November:

Race 1: THIS Tuesday, April 13 - Florida Congressional District 19

This special election has been called to fill the seat of liberal Democrat Robert Wexler, who resigned late last year. This District is usually considered a Democrat stronghold, but Republican nominee, Ed Lynch, has seen a big bump in his poll numbers and fundraising efforts since the passage of Obamacare.


Race 2: Tuesday, May 18 - Pennsylvania Congressional District 12

A special election has been called to fill the seat of the controversial Democrat, John Murtha, who passed away in February. This is a very winnable race. The McCain/Palin ticket easily carried this district in 2008. The Republican nominee, Tim Burns is ahead in the polls and can take this western Pennsylvania district back for the GOP.


Race 3: Saturday, May 22 - Hawaii Congressional District 1

A special election has been called to fill the seat of Democrat Neil Abercrombie, who resigned to run for Governor. Charlie Cook, the non-partisan political handicapper, has moved this election from “Leans Democrat” to “Toss Up.” GOP nominee Charles Dijou has a very good chance of winning this election. There is no runoff provision for this election. It is a winner take all race. Two viable Democrat candidates are locked in a fierce battle and expected to split the Democrat vote.

BTW - these should just be appointed until November - waste of money to have an election so close to the regular election.

Georgia 9th: May 11.
And I thought Massa's seat in NY had a special election scheduled for it... but, it doesn't. I'd assume it would have one before November... but, who knows.
