Teachers Union "Prays" for Governors Death

Post by Col Hogan »

Keeping it classy in New Jersey... :ohno:
A New Jersey teachers union is coming under fire after an internal memo included a veiled threat to Gov. Chris Christie.

The leaked memo, which was sent to union leaders in the New Jersey Education Association's Bergen County division, contains a closing paragraph written in the form of a prayer.

"Dear Lord," the letter reads. "This year you have taken away my favorite actor, Patrick Swayze, my favorite actress, Farrah Fawcett, my favorite singer, Michael Jackson, and my favorite salesman, Billy Mays. I just wanted to let you know that Chris Christie is my favorite governor."

Bergen County Education Association President Joe Coppola said the memo was confidential and the line was intended as a joke.

New Jersey currently has an $11B budget deficit, left for the newly elected governor to tackle...he's locked in a battle with several groups, including education, on how to close the gap...

No need to pray for it, really. Nature will take its course soon enough... the dude's circulatory system can't have too much fight left in it.

Too soon to tell, but I think that by now people should have quit underestimating a guy who went from State Senator to POTUS in about 4 years. The political gods love this guy and even though there are a lot of things the left base isn't happy with about Obama, he could change all that with the right SCOTUS appointment. I think that he will be less of a compromiser than usual on this one, and even less so if he is around when Ginsberg leaves.

The political gods might love the guy, but now it's showing that the unwashed masses are a little smarter.

I don't think anyone is underestimating him anymore, but there is a good bit of buyer's remorse now. He wasn't ready for prime time and now it's showing....there is nothing he can do about that. The left base is the least of his worries. They are going to vote for him no matter what. If he decides to nominate a far left radical to satisfy the base, he will alienate the mainstream and set the Dems up for an even more vicious fight to maintain control come November.

I think he needs to throw the base a bone to keep them from staying home in November, buyers remorse is coming from both sides and if he lets SCOTUS swing any more to the right he's finished in '12 for sure and you'll be seeing lefties at the Tea Party rallies. (You'll be able to spot them by their signs - they'll be the ones with correct spelling).

I got that chain mail letter referring to Obama months ago. And CNN actually believed it newsworthy to the point of including it in the headline? What a joke. :ohno:

Fuck teachers and their unions, I've never heard a more whiny  ass group as a whole who thinks working nine months a year is too much.
