They both do have bleachers around a football field.Willie wrote:Well I wasn't talking exact dimensions and curvature. The two look awfully similar.

They are totally different. The only simialrity is that both have bleachers of equal size on both sides! Wow twins!Willie wrote:That you, and others on this board, must be blind. There are more similarities between the 2 stadiums that I posted besides the bleachers being the same size.Franks Tanks wrote:

Willie, you seem to be alone in your belief on this one. You might want to let it go.Willie wrote:Franks Tanks wrote:

I am with you Willie. While they are not identical twins, they are at least cousins. Both are in bowls with the field below ground level. People enter at the top of the stands and go down to fill the stadium.Willie wrote:No, I'm not. See people really don't read.
Re: EVERY FCS STADIUM HAS AN FBS TWIN!
I see it. Of course they are exactly identical, but if Poly were to add the endzone seats in a squared of manor like WaGriz they are real damn closeSloStang wrote:I am with you Willie. Not all of Wash-Grizz is a bowl, the north side that goes down the the river isn't really:
Cal Poly and Montana both have the straight sidelines going on though, that really changes the look and feel of a stadium making it much more angular. The curved seating makes me feel like Aggie Stadium doesn't look very similar to Wash-Grizz.

Untrue. The NEZ is more than half "underground". Look at the '86 pictures I posted. You just can't tell now because of the 2 additions since then.expandspanos wrote:Not all of Wash-Grizz is a bowl, the north side that goes down the the river isn't really:
What I was trying to get people to see was that ORIGINALLY, Wa-Griz's endzones were grass hills, like Davis'. I could care less about the curvature of the bleachers as I already mentioned.

Like I said I see what you are saying and agree. Some people are just looking at Wa-Griz now and can not see that it had a very similar start as Aggie Stadium.Willie wrote:Untrue. Re: EVERY FCS STADIUM HAS AN FBS TWIN!
Going by the standards some are giving for Willie's comparison the rest of them need to be told they are wrong too. The closest one, IMO, was Miami and YSU. However, Miami's has extra seating that YSU doesn't, and the curvature isn't the same, not the same number of rows, etc...89Hen wrote:Both have eyes, noses, teeth and heynannys... twins!Willie wrote:What I was trying to get people to see was that ORIGINALLY, Wa-Griz's endzones were grass hills, like Davis'. He's the one who made the claim....clenz wrote:Going by the standards some are giving for Willie's comparison...
If he hadn't said EXACTLY in all caps, probably nobody would have taken offfense. Truth is, UC Davis is a lot closer to several other I-AA stadiums than it is to any stage of Wa-Griz.Willie wrote:It's not FBS but UC Davis' stadium has the setup potential to be EXACTLY like Washington Grizzly.

Like I've said he isn't too far off. If they add endzone seating and square it off like the WaGriz set up they would be pretty damn close89Hen wrote:He's the one who made the claim....clenz wrote:Going by the standards some are giving for Willie's comparison...

Re: EVERY FCS STADIUM HAS AN FBS TWIN!
I can only assume you're talking about "potential"? Any piece of land has the potential of becoming exactly like Wa-Griz. Maybe we are being nitpicky, but the curved sides alone make it so even with endzone seating it would never be EXACTLY like Wa-Griz. IMO the proximity of the stands to the field at Wa-Griz is probably the most important factor that makes it Wa-Griz.Willie wrote:But you're failing to mention another very key term I stated.89Hen wrote: He's the one who made the claim....

None of the stadiums talked about here look all that similar to the FBS stadiums listed...89Hen wrote:I can only assume you're talking about "potential"? Miami (OH) Yager Stadium:
They really aren't that similar. Miami has seating on the ends, a bigger seating curve, bigger stands on both sides, bigger scoreboard, and what appears to be a tunnel leading to locker rooms on the one side. Simply put, they are too different to be twins

You can't seriously be spliltting hairs about stadiums.>>>>>

The second picture of Yager Stadium is what it looks like now. Mainly two sides with maybe 100-200 seats for the band behind the one endzone.
