#26 ranked Western Kentucky (28 - 12) waxed UK (25 - 15) 24 - 8 last night in front of a record home crowd of 6,183 in Nick Denes Field in Bowling Green, KY. The crowd doubled the previous record of 3,087. This is the largest deficit in the 54-game series history between these teams.
The Hilltoppers scored 5 in the bottom of the 1st and then scored 13 in the 2nd to make it 18 - 0 after 2 innings! It was on cruise control from there. This was a huge win after losing 4 straight (including being swept by Florida Atlantic). Next up is 11th ranked Louisville Cardinals in Louisville on Thursday. The last time the Cards and Tops played in was a 7 - 6 victory for Louisville, hopefully with the thrashing of the Cats, this can continue in Louisville. Then it is back to Sun Belt Conference in Bowling Green as they take on Florida International in a weekend series.
Go Tops!!!
