We need to do both(tax and control spending). :geek:
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

LoL...how is this any different than raising the poor and middle class' income taxes? Other than the fact that this is going to be regressive? I thought the donks said only those evil greedy capitalist pigs making more than $250,000 would have to pay more taxes to the government?

Control spending?!?!?! What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you know we need to keep spending to stimulate the economy with no risk of inflation down the road? Trust in The Anointed One, you racist.

I'm all for a consumption based tax.........as long it is accompanied by a reduction in income based tax.

With that being said, this looks on the surface like a bad idea, since we all know that neither side of the aisle will ever give up the power that they currently wield through the income tax code.
