liberty opened with them last yr and we impressed them. great game! this yr we open with st francis too easy. then we have a very possible upset against Ball State and a game JMU which hopefully turns out to be a great game again with a different 4th quarter outcome...really hope coastal woops up on every1 INCLUDING stony brook and then plays LU for the BS title. LU winning of course but coastal is my 2nd fav BS school. great rivalry with sports overall.kirkblitz wrote:ccu opens at west virginia. Easy win for us

Re: Tough Opening Schedules
Clearly some teams out there with tough season starts. For the pinnicle, though, I'm giving it up to the Blue Hens. I mean, come on...right out of the gate going head to head with West Chester. Talk about a given 0-1; I only hope the UD physiotherapists can handle the load after that trouncing. I guess the UD coaches and players can go into the game with a "we've got nothing to lose" attitude, otherwise I just don't see the point in subjecting yourself to that kind of abuse. If that weren't enough, after a breather against SDSU, it's right back into the frying pan against, you guessed it, Duquesne. I'll take my hat off to any UD player who can emotionally regroup for the rest of the season after that start.

Really? Mockery from a W&M fan? The same team that in Week 2 plays perennial doormat VMI and then in Week 3 plays FCS year 2 start-up ODU? How ironical of you to complain about someone else's easy schedule.green&gold75 wrote:Clearly some teams out there with tough season starts. GannonFan. Hmmmm. VMI vs West Chester, and ODU vs Duquesne. I definately like my chances, but no matter. Your point is fair, except that I was not complaining at all, just diverting myself from a bad day at work. Blue Hens and Tribe will both be well-tested by end of season. BTW, Keydets qualify as a "traditional instate rivalry", which I trust has a familiar ring. 23 Oct--hope you make it--Griffon is waiting.

No...you were the one saying there was only 1 gimmie team in your conference...when clearly that is not the case the ACC...oops, I mean the CAA had 6 teams under 500GannonFan wrote:But, as you guys are prone to always complaining about, with the CAA being so big you don't get to play everyone in the conference every year. Not too many teams, if any, were facing a slate of Towson, URI, Northeastern every year. So which is it, there are too many bottom dwellers or the conference is too big - you guys seem to be contradicting yourselves.mlbowl wrote:
...yes, Rhode Island was 1-10 (stellar)...Northeastern 3-8....oh...and 3 other teams UNDER 500 but we wont let facts get in the way

Uh, yeah. Funny thing about conferences that play 8 of their 11 games in conference - almost half the teams end up with losing records. Seriously, your argument about the quality of the teams based on that is really one of the weakest arguments I've seen in a long, long time. That's honestly your best attempt at this?mlbowl wrote:No...you were the one saying there was only 1 gimmie team in your conference...when clearly that is not the case the ACC...oops, I mean the CAA had 6 teams under 500GannonFan wrote:

Well, ODU and Dusquesne both lost by pretty similar margins to that powerhouse known as Monmouth, so they're probably not as far off as you may think. And VMI vs West Chester - heck, West Chester is closer to Newark than VMI is to W&M so maybe we can write it off as a "local" rivalry too!green&gold75 wrote:GannonFan. Hmmmm. I don't have to "attempt" anything...your conference only had one "Towson like" gimmie team...REMEMBER You were already proven wrong...you keep on keepin on though

Re: Tough Opening Schedules
Dont know about you guys but i dont see how West Chester can even be compared to VMI . However i do think the Keydets will struggle this year as they are moving away from the Triple Option, i hope they prove me wrong but at the same time it doesnt seem likely.
