The Republican Health Care Plan...

Post by Chizzang »

Republican Sue Lowden thinks Americans should simply bring a chicken in to a doctors office for barter as a replacement for the existing Health Care system....

Will the hilarity never end  now it's an exciting proposal but the logistics might get tricky

Seriously people...
Am I allowed to just disregard all politicians as idiots now 100% dismissal of the body politic

We've seen change, but still haven't seen reform.

Colbert Show was hilarious last night makin' fun of this...chicken, parakeet, rabbit, and a duck lol!

But I'm sure the bartering system is great considering doctors go to school for 8+ years spending a ridiculous amount of personal time and money to become part of one of the most respected professions on Earth.

Huh. That's interesting Jeff, because the Democratic version passed and nobody including Congress knows what is in that one either.

I can't believe that's true. That would mean the Republican's are not trying to expand the role of government anymore.

Dana, the Dem version is very similar to this one here:

Thanks for the information, but I should have been a little more specific in my reference. I was talking about an article I read in the NY Times that talked about how Congress didn't realize it, but they may have forced themselves to find insurance elsewhere because of passage on the new healthcare bill.

They weren't sure because Congress didn't know what the bill stated and it was written very vaguely.

I have tried to find it via google, but apparently too many keywords like healthcare and coverage are getting me hits. Plus my kids are hounding me, so I surely won't find the article in the next couple of hours.

I don't have kids and have a PhD in googling. Took me five seconds. Interesting read.

The law apparently bars members of Congress from the federal employees health program, on the assumption that lawmakers should join many of their constituents in getting coverage through new state-based markets known as insurance exchanges.

But the research service found that this provision was written in an imprecise, confusing way, so it is not clear when it takes effect.

The new exchanges do not have to be in operation until 2014. But because of a possible “drafting error,” the report says, Congress did not specify an effective date for the section excluding lawmakers from the existing program.

Under well-established canons of statutory interpretation, the report said, “a law takes effect on the date of its enactment” unless Congress clearly specifies otherwise. And Congress did not specify any other effective date for this part of the health care law. The law was enacted when President Obama signed it three weeks ago.
What a bunch of Sh!tgooses.
