National Enquirer says, "Obama Cheating Scandal"

Post by SeattleGriz »

Ruh Roh! Looks as if the Enquirer is back at it again with allegations of another Democrat cheating on their spouse.

This is going to be interesting to see what comes of this one, especially since they were the ONLY ones to break the John "piece o' shit" Edwards story.

PRESIDENT OBAMA has been caught in a shocking cheating scandal after being caught in a Washington, DC Hotel with a former campaign aide, sources say.

And now, a hush-hush security video that shows everything could topple both Obama's presidency and marriage to Michelle!

A confidential investigation has learned that Obama first became close to gorgeous 35 year-old VERA BAKER in 2004 when she worked tirelessly to get him elected to the US Senate, raising millions in campaign contributions.

Could be true. It's always been reported that Michelle Obama almost left him around that time. It was always passed off as a strained relationship due to the stress of running for the Senate and such. Could be an affair. If it is... who fucking cares? It certainly won't topple his Presidency... and it obviously won't topple his marriage, either.

Hmmm...

...lemme see if I get this straight.

Per wiki...
Vera Baker is a former political fundraiser. With Muthoni Wambu, she founded Baker Wambu & Associates in 2000. According to The Politico, Baker's organization became a top fundraising firm for the Congressional Black Caucus. [1] Baker was the Finance Director for Barack Obama's 2004 Illinois Senate campaign and was identified by The American Prospect as one of the "rare" African-American major fundraisers.[2] She also served as the Deputy Political Director at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee...

...After leaving political fundraising, Baker worked for Alta Capital Group, a municipal bond broker-dealer. She then launched Cape Caribbean, LLC, with offices in Fort de France, Martinique and Miami, Florida.
Moves to Martinique, starts a travel agency...

...and now, Cape Caribbean's website has been taken off the web?

Perhaps it won't topple his presidency but it is just more fodder on the fire of mistrust, half truths, and outright lies that has been his tenure thus far; and it certainly won't help in the midterm elections.

If true, disappointing. People write off infidelity these days as if it's personal business that doesn't have an impact on judgement elsewhere. I don't.

Don't forget, the Enquirer was THE one who broke the Tiger Woods fiasco, too.
They seem to have the market cornered in the infidelity outing business.

... though I don't care about politicians extramarital relations, the media and American public do. Aren't people still talking about JFK and Marlyn Monroe? We hold our politicians to higher standards, when they don't meet those standards, they get lambasted. Media loves a good political sex scandal.

Sometimes I really do feel like Jim Carey in "The Truman Show." First it's Z with the "Great Society" article, now a National Enquirer news break. A friend sent me this link yesterday.

Agreed.

It's the quintessential distractor.

When poli's are revealed as shills, a good sex scandal shifts the focus.

Wouldn't be surprised if this had been fabricated/leaked by Obama's camp.

If Obama can't maintain his promise to love and care for not only his spouse, but the mother of his children, then what other promises will he break that mean even that much less to him?

We've already seen he didn't give a shit about his half brother living in squalor. This little trend of selfishness shows me a lot about his character.

Meh, this is a non-issue if true.

Now if it goes beyond that like paying the woman to shut-up, or lying during the campaign when specifically asked about the subject (even though lying seems to be the norm now in political campaigns), then I'd be very concerned.

I don't care about lying to your wife because really, that doesn't concern me and it's a personal issue. I'd even go as far as saying that having sex with multiple women is human nature. Now if he's lied to the public, or proceeds to lie to the public if asked about the affair in the future, that's a big issue. I'd rather him just come clean or simply say "no comment." Just DON'T lie; that's all I ask for. Even though I lean a bit more right, I've got trust in Obama...not telling the truth about this would essentially shatter it.

I do hope this is false though, and nothin' comes out of it.

But it is a big issue...I think you addressed it after first dismissing it...but it really is a big issue...

Does anyone truly believe a person...any person...can so segment their life...so that in their personal life, their inability to keep a personal vow, and lie to their wife, does not bleed over into their professional life???

While what he and his wife does in his bedroom is no concern of mine...I think his ability to lie and cheat on his wife reflects greatly on his ability to lead this country...

If he can lie and cheat on something so personal as his wife...he can easily lie and cheat on us...

See I don't know about that. Some (most?) of the greatest leaders in the history of mankind have had multiple affairs. I mean, religion and people have made it a social stigma in the last few hundred years, but truth be told, it was never really an issue for thousands of years before that. I've always seen affairs as a very normal thing in politics; a "benefit" of having power perhaps?

This may be true, but what great civilizations aren't built on lies? I absolutely hate politicians lying, but again, I don't think it reflects poorly on leadership. Just comes with the territory I guess.

Concur! Infidelity is not necessarilyat the top of my list of criteria for judging those in positions of authority, but it should not be written off as irrelevant, either.

No, Baldy. I really wouldn't. I've never jumped on public figures for having a simple affair. Unless it's someone who's always bashed gays while secretly fondling little boys or banging gay prostitutes. The list of presidents that have had affairs is LONG. And includes plenty of Republicans. And almost all of the recent presidents.

Like a hinted in the first post; I see it more of human nature than a standard set by whoever sets codes of moral conduct. It's been observed in the animal kingdom (including humans) since the dawn of man, that the ones at the top want and get more females (and males). Sex transcends a lot of things...a natural tendency at its best.

I think we can agree to disagree on this one. I doubt I'll convince you and you probably won't convince me. Don't take that as me trying to shut you up btw. I'm willing to read your argument...just don't know if I'll respond to it 'cause I know there's no point in this debate.

And again, I hope this isn't true. But like previously mentioned, the Enquirer is good with this stuff.

I consoled myself by nailing my GF (at the time) two best friends. (Hence the at the time part)
