Planning on attending road games?

Post by JALMOND »

Maybe has more meaning in the west due to the traveling distances involved, but what road games are everyone thinking about attending? Last year I had good intentions, but the only road game I made it to was Portland State's game at Oregon State (good fun, though). This year, I'll probably make it to the Oregon game (ticket included in PSU's season ticket package), although I am thinking about going to the Davis game the week before, especially if they keep it at an evening kickoff time.

Any road games you're thinking about attending?

Technically it's not a "road" game, but I'm planning on going to EWU vs. CWU at Qwest in Seattle. Staying the night and watching the opening game for my Seahawks as we whoop up on the Forty-Whiners. :D

since I live in Tampa, every Southern game is a road game for me. But seriously I'm attending the MEAC/SWAC Challenge in Orlando for sure. Other than that maybe at Jackson St or at Prairie View.

I'll probably be making a short drive up to Cheney for the EWU-Griz game. That will probably be the only Griz game I get to catch in person this year.

Penn and/or Princeton, as usual. :thumb: My trial schedule will screw up my OOC attendance this year. :x

Probably!? C'mon now, you know you'll be there. First conference game of the year and it will be one of the biggest. First game (ever) on red turf, TV coverage etc etc. Can't wait. :thumb:

I plan on making Cal Poly's game in San Marcos against Texas State. I also will travel to the Fresno State game and possibly the Southern Utah game.

I'm making the 2 hour drive to see us beat in stead rival Iowa State for a second straight time. Other than that, the distances to all of the MVFC schools may be to far to make work.

I plan on attending Portland State and EWU, as both are closer to Seattle than Missoula.

Of course I will pull my usual, "IF the Griz make the playoffs this year, I would like to go to a game or two."

I wouldn't count on that this season. According to blackfalkin, a.k.a. the Oracle of Long Beach, we'll be lucky to get a couple of wins. :silly:

The pickings are slim with only four road games, but I'll be checking out Richmond's new stadium for sure. I really wanted to go see Cal Poly's visit to ODU, but UD has a home game that day. I was also considering going to see the two CAA-to-be noobs play (Ga St @ ODU) and then go catch the Hens play at W&M right up the road, but those are both early afternoon games. Lastly, UD @ UMass is too late for fall foliage, so I'm skipping that one too.

Say what? How did the Hens end up at W&M two years in a row?

Luckily, ODU's away games are within easy driving distances. I'll be headin' to Campbell, Hampton (if I score tickets), and NC Central. I'm not sure about Monmouth though, but I do suspect the ODU faithful will travel well to all these games.

Probably only the TXST/UofH game. I got off for that weekend but every other SLC away game is too much to drive there and back in a day (when you have to be at work the next AM)....except maybe SAM...if it comes down to meaning anything this year.

McNeese - 306 miles
SFA - 222 miles
SLU - 476 miles
SAM - 158 miles

I'll most likely show up at Lexington and Lynchburg this year for Kentucky and Liberty. Might take the wife to Hawaii again like we did year before last.
