When school principals and adminstrators play racial preference games under the umbrella of "social justice", this is what the result looks like. Everyone involved should be fired and sued, and the discriminated kids should receive vouchers to the private school of their choice, courtesy of these public servant parasites with racist agendas.

Is it wrong for me to think this is actually funny and not "infuriating" and "outrageous"..!!!
Sometimes I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be angry about anymore... and what's actually just funny..?

Not sure what is so funny here.
Is it that children were excluded from a public school event on the basis of skin color?
Or that hilarious brow-beating by the principal to those excluded to accept their less-privilidged status?
Or that "over-the top" funny comment that only black children would be inspired by a black rocket scientist, to the exclusion of all others. I mean, no kids in elementary schools think rockets and astronauts are cool.
Please explain, as my tea-drinking arse is not sophisticated enough to find humor in blatant racism - in any direction.

The only way to make this right is to allow the white kids to go to see Steve Nash give a basketball demonstration and the asian kids to go watch the Coney Island hot dog eating competition. Everyone needs hope.

I think he was laughing at this (probably not actually but I thought it was funny...sorry Smitty):
Anyways, it's a sad story and if anything, just reinforces racism...I mean, the other kids booed the black kids when they came back. The principal's pursuit to lessen the gap between how well white and black kids are doing is a noble one. The method he used is absolute crap. When school principals and adminstrators play racial preference games under the umbrella of "social justice", this is what the result looks like. Smudge-
Not sure how "noble" it is to attempt to help one group by limiting opportunities for another.
However, your point is well-taken - and the "AA Lunch Bunch" could and should have been the "AA Brunch Bunch", met on Saturday mornings, and paid their own damned way for the field trip.

Re: Our F***ed Up Public Schools and "Progressive" Bastards
You're right, limiting the opportunities of others is not noble, and he absolutely did that in this instance. I really do believe he meant well and wants to give everyone an equal opportunity (that's what I meant), but he definitely has a misconception of what equal opportunity means; you could tell that in the story with his excuses. I'm not sure if he should be fired entirely as I'm sure he's a valuable educator to the state, but I think this is a pretty big slip-up for a principal. He should probably be re-trained and given a position of less responsibility. But then again, teaching is not my forte so I'm not sure if that's the proper way to handle this situation.

My byline on a message board carries no authority or supervisory powers over anyone. It is a reference to another thread where a Liberty fan and I were having some fun.
A school principal and administration has both the power and responsibility to educate ALL students without predjudice, and in supreme court rulings, is actually considered "parents" for the time a child's time in school. This is a position of authority that should not openly demonstrate bias or favoritism, regardless of the ultimate goal.
You might want to consider how this would have been reported had the races of the participants in this travesty been reversed. Cue Al Sharption, the NAACP, MSNBC, ACLU, etc......
And before you go slapping yourself on the back for an oh-so-important thread win, you need to ensure you get your 'situational morality ribbon' from the feds....its right next to that tasty government cheese you grew up on.

Re: Our F***ed Up Public Schools and "Progressive" Bastards
The focus on narrowing the "achievement gap" has bothered me from some time. It carries obvious risks. Obviously, one way of narrowing the "achievement gap" is to lower the achievement level and/or slow the progress of the group that is "ahead."
There is no way...none...that our educational systems should be focused on trying to narrow gaps in "achievement" among defined groups. They should be focused on trying to increase "achievement" for everybody.

OK, so serious question here... This exemplifies a double-standard that divides our population. Just because it has happened often, does not make it right. Why is it OK to accept differnet standards for different groups, when the end result is divisive? The Nazi's (and for the record that is the National Socialist Party - a LEFT-wing political entity) routinely committed great atrocities, and accepted them - does not mean they were right, ethical, or in their best interests. Every time you accept such inequities, you sell just a little of your soul - eventually you end up way down a road you never intended to travel.Chizzang wrote:

I see the irony, and understand the point. However, the humor escapes me. Nice try, however when you have your own comment about terrorists not having an air force behind them, it tells me much. I grow incredibly tired of those who think our country SHOULD be this or that, and actually sympathize with people/groups who wish to do us harm. I lived in Colorado when Columbine happened, and was revulsed when the "social experts" started to blame the other kids' meanness as the reason behind such tragic events. This parallels your terrorist comment, and sickens me. North Korea is lovely this time of year.
Wow...
The words delusional come to mind
1) Firstly did you (with a serious tone) actually bring up the Nazi's - I mean really - so somehow because we've reviewed a situation where some grade school kids were discriminated against in an obvious and blatant racial maneuver by some nut-ball principal I'm now a Nazi sympathizer because I find the whole thing hysterical... Yikes, take a deep breath there Buzz Light Year, I think you might be taking this whole situation a bit too seriously.
2) Agreed - it is social engineering and I'm certain the parents and school system et al will intervene and handle the whole thing in a proper and reasonable manner... however: It's still funny in a "people are crazy" kind of way... but I can't for the life of me see why you being in the Armed Forces makes one bit of difference regarding this topic... and as far as what I've done for my country - for starters I paid your fucking salary for the 11 years you were in the Armed Forces... and Just for the Record Roger Ramjet you have absolutely no idea what I do or how I've contributed to the greatness of this nation - all smugness aside
3) Regarding my signature and Terrorists not having an air force..? Please tell me you're pretending to be that stupid. It's a political observation about the acceptable insanity of large scale ware fare, like the old quote from Jean Rostand: "Kill one man, and you are a murderer. Kill millions of men, and you are a conqueror. Kill them all, and you are a god" - Get it..? Put 5,000 guys that feel the same way in F-15's and you have an Air Force however one guy who might feel exactly the same way - acting alone he is a terrorist.. Get it..?
and the fact that "my logic" as you put it "sickens you" makes me happy... because in your world by all appearances there is virtually no logic at all, only ridiculous pride quickly followed by rage and self righteousness
4) Why in the world would you edit your profile..? Trust me nobody really cares...

As far as your points...
1. Hitler instituted government control of production as a means to mobilize for war. Nazis and fascist were CORPORATISTS... as far from socialism/Communism/Marxism as you can get. Nationalization to mobilize doesn't mean they were liberals, communists, or any other catch-phrase you want to use.
2. Olinsky? I'm not familiar. Do you mean Alinsky? If so he wasn't well known until the 1960's... he certainly didn't have an influence on Hitler, Nazism, or fascism....
3. And, yeah, Nazi's used socialist in their name. That doesn't make them socialist. When the party started socialism was extremely popular with the lower and middle classes. Was the USSR a Republic because it had the word "republic" in its name?
Two of your points are just plainly retarded (unless there is a communist thinker named Olinsky I'm not familiar with). You almost have a point with the nationalization... but, I think it's clear it was to mobilize for war and not anything to do with fascism or Nazism.
And, this is what happens when Nazi's and Communists meet:

They couldn't be more diametrically opposed. And they hated each other.
And you suck at history.

Skelly... Jizzang... Quick lesson about VA. There is no reasoning with someone who has obtained a public education in the 757.
Except for maybe '8 on its side cubed.' But he got his diploma from one of the best high schools in VA (from a school in NoVA, not the 757. And he allowed his sister to get gang banged by the brothers of Lambda Chi at JMU... I digress), so don't let the ODU moniker fool you with him. Beware of the other members of the 757/ODU contingency though.

Please take notes. See how Jelli actually responded to the issues without the immediate left-wing approach of name-calling and demonification. He takes some time to inject his venom. You can learn from him.
Jelli, As for your comments...
1. Alinsky is the proper spelling (you are correct), and "rules for radicals' was much later than WW2. However, this document serves as the playbook for social justice (to include the environmental movement of today) of the majority of far-left causes. Hell, even Obama belittled the Supreme Court justices during the State of the Union address...right out of the playbook of isolating and demonizing.
2. The wartime stance of Nazi germany was self-created, but with an influence of lack of resolution from WW1. The 'socialist' term was not a convenient moniker, it was used to get the general population to believe they would benefit by punishing another group that had been ostracized. The name was chosen for a reason. However, I agree that there are crazy examples like the FDR (east germany) and the NPK (north korea). Point made.
3. Right-wing ideology has strayed greatly from its roots. Even the greatest of 'conservative' leaders in the US, reagan, ran counter to the philosophy of lack of intervention in foreign affairs.....the expansion of 'democracy' offshore is not a conservative value, and is dangerous by its attempts. consider the former yugoslavia, where a little bit of democracy fueled a rekindling of nationalist zeal reasulting in terrible civil wars among the breakup states (which I witnessed first-hand). Today, the instability of Iraq and Afghanistan are partially attributable to our attempt to impose US styled democracy on populations not ready for it.
This is a good discussion of obviously different viewpoints.
Please take notes. See how Jelli actually responded to the issues without the immediate left-wing approach of name-calling and demonification. He takes some time to inject his venom. You can learn from him.

When Maxine Waters reaches the pearly gates, I hope St. Peter bitch-slaps her with a large, wet teabag

Thank you for playing, JayBilasBitesPillows, we have some lovely consolation gifts for you. Next contestant, please.
Nice.
