Jebus Flipping Dog Poo DJ!!! What USA Team are you talking about!?! Your thread title is misleading. I came in here thinking you were talking about the USA Women's National Baking and Knitting Team. What a disappointment this is! Do better work next time so I don't have to waste my time.

So that means that Davies is definitely ruled out? Bummer.

... but seriously, I feel bad for Charlie Davies. You gotta wonder if he's recovered enough though considering he didn't make his scheduled appearances in the final two games for sochaux.

Re: Preliminary Team USA roster announced
Does this team have a cheerleading squad? If not, I know of one out of Sacred City that is said to be the best in all the land!
Re: Preliminary Team USA roster announced
My apologies that this title was too manure pile for your bee. I'll make sure to indicate it is the real Team USA when the final roster is finally announced.JMU DJ wrote:Jebus Flipping Dog Poo DJ!!! Re: Preliminary Team USA roster announced
Yep. Writing's been on the wall for some time now, with Sochaux's president and coach saying he won't be getting any game time the rest of their season (over Saturday). Apparently where he thinks he is at fitness wise and where the coaches and trainers think he is at are completely opposite. Also, this little gem from Bradley:GannonFan wrote:So that means that Davies is definitely ruled out? Bummer.
pretty much sealed it over a week ago.The fact that Charlie is this far along is great, but even within the framework of training, let's face it, there are different levels there...the final steps are the hardest steps. We still need to see where that goes."

Re: Preliminary Team USA roster announced
What has Beasley done to prove he is worthy of a spot? He's not even good enough anymore to start in the SPL...
Everyone knows my beef with Dempsey
Interesting choices with Buddle and Gomez, I don't know much about them at all.
I do like bringing Eddie Johnson in.

Re: Preliminary Team USA roster announced
Beasley I don't know why, he was playing for Rangers most of the year but was dropped the last month or so.
Buddle leads MLS in scoring with 9 goals in 8 games. Plus he lines up with a guy named Landon Donovan. Gomez was second in scoring the Mexican Clausura with 10 goals in 15 games despite only being a sub. EJ has 5 goals for Aris in15 games, most coming in the last couple months.
Davies' was out, we needed options at forward. Three guys just went off, so at least one of them is going.

Thanks for the info about Buddle. I wish I could get into the MLS, but it just bores the manure out of me. I hardly even read the headlines about the league anymore.DukeJack wrote:Beasley I don't know why, he was playing for Rangers most of the year but was dropped the last month or so.

I have no problem with bringing in the fresh faces though.

Will be interesting to see who makes the final cut June 1. Hopefully Onyewu will look good from his injury and lack of playing time.
Surprised Ching made it since he's been hurt most of the MLS season.

You guys are a laugh a minute.
Seriously, though. Where's Meola when we need him?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

So then I gotta ask, how many DC United games have you been to? Done the Barra Brava/Screaming Eagles thing?bandl wrote:Thanks for the info about Buddle. I wish I could get into the MLS, but it just bores the manure out of me. I hardly even read the headlines about the league anymore.

At least you haven't written off the league as 'rubbish' like every other bandwagon G14 shit does. Yeah, very convenient to talk about how poor your local team is compared to one of the top clubs in the world, which you can comfortably watch on your foreign feed Saturday morning. I really hate eurosnobs.

I've been to a few games games in Dallas and Houston.
Spent one game against LA in the El Batallon section. That was freakin crazy.

That's only because MLS isn't the best league for players to play and make money.Pwns wrote:Looks like Team World instead of Team USA.
Personally, I like Dempsey (except he went to Furman), but his play can be questioned at times. But Beasley shouldn't be on the list, I haven't seen anything that would make me think there isn't someone better.

I agree, Beasley has not shown much lately.
Will Donovan be the Captain of this side?

I hope Onyewu is better come June. I know he made the 23 man for Milan but never the 18, but I wonder how close he is.

Re: Preliminary Team USA roster announced
looks like there is a possibility that Davies french club screwed him out of a world cup roster spot.

Just saw this. I'll believe it, I could see those froggy bastards stooping to this level to enhance their chances.

Re: Preliminary Team USA roster announced
Whatever. It's not like Sochaux told him to break curfew on national team duty, go to a bar, get buzzed with a couple girls, then head off to Virginia with them. If Davies wants to be pissed off at anyone, he should only look in the mirror.
Having said that, while he might not be at a fitness level that would allow Sochaux to clear him right now doesn't mean he wouldn't be in time for England. But then you have to ask is it worth bringing a player you know can only give you 20-30 minutes off the bench versus an in-form forward going 90 every week, blah blah blah.

It's going to come quick. Hopefully they can get the teamwork down going into the Australia friendly. I assume 1 game will be enough to at least get acclimated to the elevation (although friendlies in higher elevations would of been a better prep i think)?DukeJack wrote:Teamline leading up to the Cup:
