Chuck - Let me set the record straight. The friggen story is true. I heard it from 3 different people in various forms. I did fib about knowing the golf pro because I wanted to protect his identity on a local message board. That just means I did know one of the 3 and he validated the stories plus added his own. I've already apologized and omitted that it was an inappropriate story to share. That doesn't change that it happened, was shared with me and I overreacted and placed it in a forum. I'm guilty , as charged, for inappropiate posting but not for fabricating a story or slander. If it hadn't taken place I wouldn't have brought just gossip to the table. Neither me nor my story is the reason for GoHens going down. What we need , at this point, is to all stop pointing fingers and acting the same stupid way we all did on the other board and get back to talking Blue Hen football. Again, poor choice of topics but I'm no liar bucco conerning KC's inappropiate actions.

Henzone - Your anecdote was true. The anecdote about the "Lord of the Ring" was true. FACT is it doesn't matter... the Sunshine Gang sees the UD world through Oakley-colored glasses. Even if you and I had both posted the name, address, phone number, and e-mail address of the witnesses to the pompous, arrogant behavior of the CEO...the result would be "BlueHen BillK" calling the witness a "douche" and insisting that he and his family leave the country.

YOUR post did not bring down GoHens...threads were eliminated all the time. A clue to GoHens future was when KCs business manager, brother-in-law, or assistant coach (or whoever "OC the defender" is) posted the "KC threats"... no more access to UD players and coaches for interviews...closing of practices to the public. When closing practice was pointed out as an assinine move which would only make more public the issue and when it was pointed out that GoHens could function very well without coaching interviews abd direct player access...the site was suspended "indefinitely".... politics at work.

The "douche" fixation is a common response when ideas and vocabulary are lacking...also a GoHens specialty of "BlueHenBillK'.

Come on, Bangy, just admit it - you couldn't exist civily with others, you couldn't resist damning UD and the coaches and employees and even the players in most every post and thread, and you were the biggest reason why HR felt the need to close the board (despite throwing you off the board on at least two other ocassions). While most of us could exercise the adult virtue of restraint and could respect HR's repeated pleas to keep the site from descending into what it became, you just couldn't stop yourself from repeating your attacks, on UD and other posters, over and over and over again. Even when people ignored you you still made pointed attacks at them. Face it, you just couldn't help yourself to be an ass - it's just who you are.

As for the "issues", you make it seem like the vast majority of posters ignored the issues. When in reality, most posters, myself included, were quite vocal about and concerned about 1)KC's need to win (i.e. playoffs) this year or probably start looking elsewhere 2) that UD should be playing an FBS team at least every other year 3) that UD shouldn't have more than 1 patsy on the OOC schedule (and having WCU and Duquesne both this year went one too far) 3) that the administration was risking fanbase revolt by potentially jacking up season tix price to 150% without a change in direction (i.e. FBS versus FCS status). How is that ignoring the issues? How does that make someone considered to be Sunshine?

Heck, in some ways, I'm glad you're posting elsewhere these days. While I could respect and abide by HR's intentions for his site and I went out of my way to ignore and not respond to you on GoHens as you repeatedly disrespected and mocked HR and his work (to the point of shutting down his site), this site by no means is worried about being sullied by such exchanges. So by all means, welcome aboard.

Civility has little to do with the matter and to pin the shutdown of the site on one poster is ridiculous. Lot of posters were behaving badly. It seems that the University has done a poor job in preparing it's grads, if most of the posters are grads, to engage in critical thinking. Rather than support a postion with facts, there would be an attack on the poster, as you have done here. When folks were pressed to back up what they wrote, the thin veneer of thier intellect washed away easily. They'd get mad and respond viscerally. You happen to be one of the more thoughtful posters from the site and at times are able to see both sides of the issues. The vast majority of folks who would be considered by me blind KC supporters couldn't tolerate any dissent from thier postion.

Trying to scapegoat one person for the shutdown of a website is just silly and beneath that fine mind of yours.

The site wasn't shut down because of the pro-KC guys, no matter how blindly that small handful of posters were for him. It was shut down because people crossed the line in the public criticism of the coach, program, and school. No getting around that.

HZ, I like you, you love UD football and that's great, but you can't have it both ways - you can't say you're sorry for posting what you did, and then come right back and bring up the story again and reassert it. The major compliant relative to the issues with the GoHens site seemed to be that there was too much negativism and bitching relative to Mr Keeler's performance. However the reality is that at Delaware.. when you have experienced four poor seasons in the past five years and your team hasn't been able to beat a single conference opponent with a winning record over the last two years.. you should damn well expect negativity. The problem (bitching) by the anti- Keeler crowd was expasterated when many in the pro Keeler faction refused to acknowledge ANY problem at all.. which resulted in personal attacks flying between the pro and anti KC forces. The result was an endless debate which became increasingly personal and bitter.. with BOTH sides contributing to the problem.

I have no problem with the site being suspended.. if suspension is actually what is occuring.. as a cooling off period might be a good idea.. but I certainly hope that HR returns with GoHens later this summer as we approach the pre season.

Fact is, Bangy played the major part in shutting down GoHens. He, and a select few others, consistently trolled every thread, on every forum, and turned them into anti-Keeler broadcasts. BangorHen, SlaterHen, UDPA was banned several times for launching into unwarranted and repeated personal attacks...so to not understand his impact is to ignore reality. It seems that same clowns continue to defend him and his actions. Perhaps you have forgotten that several of the Bangy supporters also publicly insulted HensRock for trying to keep things civil? You've made two errors: 1) I am not a "blind KC supporter". Try to build a case for that and you'll fail miserably. 2) How do my posts indicate any intolerance for "dissent"...dissent about what?
