Ivy,
I appreciate your humor but you know and I know Obama is owned and operated by Wall Street...
He is a complete pawn of the Federal Reserve system as is well documented

Some of his other embarrassing gaffs might attribute some fluxuation here and there but lets get real... Obama is told what to do with little variation in the playbook by the financial sector not the other way around

:coffee:
Chizzang: Beneath the playfully cynical exterior, does there lurk the Diogenes of CS.com, always in search of an honest politician? Actually, I don't see Obama as a tool of the Wall Street barons. His financial "reform" package could be perceived by them as dangerous and "biting the hand that feeds," but I doubt that Barry considers himself beholden to them.

His reform package is lip service...
and will fade away quietly as it is supposed to do

Nothing will change on Wall Street other than some very slight bonus corrections which will be "fixed" in salary adjustments and hidden in transfers and board appointments and secret favors...

As I noted...
Yes there are other factors that might cause some fluxuation
But the idea that Obama and Wall Street are not hand-in-hand and that players like Goldman Sachs and the Federal Reserve team of Banks aren't calling the shots is ridiculous...

in fact:
If you believe we've had a President function autonomously regarding the Market and the Fed since 1913 you don't understand what the Federal Reserve system and Wall Street are....

:coffee: But I really think you're just trying to get a reaction from me... :kisswink:
I've worked on Wall Street and in the Fed for a short time (but not short enough), so I think I understand both pretty well. Sure, the banks and the Fed have influence and exert it to serve their interests all the time; however, Barry is arrogant and stupid enough to think he can ignore his obligations to them. I promise you that nobody on Wall Street is happy about the current and projected budget deficits, except those that make their living on short-selling and put options.

I know you're proud of your Census Bureau check, Clyde, but the market dropped sharply after every major Obama policy initiative, even the stimulus package, and there is zero evidence that BHO had anything to do with last year's bull run. Business cycles and a huge amount of stockpiled cash looking for better returns in an atmosphere of low interest rates combined to fuel last year's gains. The markets fell 20% before Barry had been in office for 6 weeks. The stock market has been stagnant so far in 2010, and the breathtaking tax and spending increases proposed by Your Savior will wither the market further in 2011. Read your financial history. Investors have no confidence in the dude. Sorry.

Sure, Clyde. The market closed off 22 points and recovered earlier losses when program trading was triggered by a drop in the S&P 500. Quit nattering and address the main points. By the way, is your mattress still full? :coffee:

The stock market has had another seesaw day. Stocks fell sharply in early trading on a series of troubling economic and political developments, then recovered late in the day.

The turnaround came as bank stocks rallied in response to comments by Rep. Barney Frank. The Massachusetts Democrat indicated Congress may pass a mild version of the financial overhaul bill that lawmakers are now negotiating.

I'd be happy to update you. It was a dead cat bounce. The fundamental issues that have caused the market drop remain and every indicator that I know of (and I follow about two dozen) indicates that the market is going to drop a lot more before it can even think about a sustainable rally.

Thank you, President Obama.

If you want to short-sell, be my guest. Short-selling is a lot trickier than it looks.
