Yeah, you can tell by the increase in union membership. :coffee:
Union membership has increased 2 out of the last 3 years, but that is irrelevant considering you were whining about corporations "buying" legislation. I'm sure labor unions aren't trying to 'buy' card check, either.
For the most part, workers aren't compelled to join unions (for now anyway) so when people are given a choice, they will most like decline an invitation to join. :thumb:

The only reason people unionize is bad management.

Big labor has never been weaker and what they can spend on lobbyists is pissing in the ocean compared to corporate America. Fortunately I'll be debt free and opted out of the system in less than four years. :thumb:

If bad management were the only reason, 75% of all businesses would be unionized.

If you think big labor is weak, tell that the the $400 Million they gave to Donks in the 2008 election cycle...$400,000,000 buys a lot of votes.
If you think big labor is weak, tell that to Andy Stern who had visited the White House more than 20 times fro January to July of 2009.

Labor is playing defense and trying to hold what they got. $400,000,000 is peanuts to corporate America. Bonus pool money.

Sounds good (not really), but we're talking two entirely different entities. As of September 2008, all corporate PACs combined only accounted for $214 Million in total donations.
On top of that, Donks far outdistanced Republicans as far as corporate donations go, so it really doesn't matter.

You are correct, Baldy, it doesn't matter a whit anymore since the SCOTUS ruling. I just give a fuck out of habit but I'm getting over it. Stay out of their way, opt out to the extent that you can, pay cash even if you have to pawn the spare tire, and if you ever get a chance to monkey-wrench them, carpe diem.
