ASU - clinched a share of the SoCon on Saturday, thereby clinching the autobid. Wofford and Elon, regardless of what they do this week, cannot overtake App since ASU has beaten them both and is undefeated in league play.

SC State clinched the MEAC, as well.

As for this coming week…

- The UTM/Eastern Kentucky game will decide the OVC auto-bid.

- The Colgate/Holy Cross game will decide the Patriot League auto-bid.

- Southern Illinois wins the MVC auto-bid with a win over Illinois State, otherwise UNI gets it.

- The Southland is a bit more complicated:
  • - If Texas State beats Sam Houston, I believe they get the auto-bid either alone if McNeese loses or in the three-way tie with McNeese & UCA (I think the next tiebreaker is still longest playoff drought which would favor Texas State over McNeese).

    - Texas State also gets the auto-bid if they, McNeese, & Northwestern State all lose.

    - If McNeese wins & Texas State loses, the Cowboys get the auto-bid.

    - If Texas State & McNeese both lose while NW State wins (3-way tie @ 4-3), Northwestern State gets the auto-bid due to having the longest postseason drought.

Texas St in with win due to beating McNeese earlier this season. The "playoff drought" rule only comes in to play if there are more then two team tied at the top. Since UCA is ineligible for conference champs this won't come into play.

Actually, the whole thing is moot. According to the Southland website, the secondary tiebreaker is now common games (top to bottom), not postseason drought.

According to that article, the only way NW State gets in is if they win, McNeese & Texas State both lose, and Nicholls beats SE Louisiana. If there's a three way tie @ 4-3 & SELA beats Nicholls, then McNeese gets it.

Each team's auto-bid scenario:

MCNSE - Clinches with a TXST loss AND either a win OR both a NWST win AND a SELA win over NICH.

TXST - Clinches with a win OR with a loss AND a NWST loss.

NWST - Clinches with a win AND a MCNSE loss AND a TXST loss AND a NICH win over SELA.
