How about an eleventh hour wager for a Stanley Cup Champions puck? I send you a Hawks one if they win. You send me a Flyers one if they win.isumatt wrote:so I have a hat bet with Ivytalk (harvard vs ILS)

Holy hell. Five goals already? I was expecting a defensive series.
Niemi doesn't like high shots I see.

Booooooooooooooooooch.
Michael Leighton just became a trivia question. Name the first goalie in NHL history to be pulled after giving up a one goal lead in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals?

Just dreadful goalie work by the Flyers tonight. The game winner that Boucher let in to his right was completely inexcusable. On the bright side, the Flyers look like they belong. Just gotta tighten up the D and they'll be fine.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Finals Thread
I agree - that was a bad goal to give up. But yeah, everyone who thought Chicago was just in another level and was 10x faster than the Flyers looked proven wrong tonight - Flyers coulda easily won that game. Of course, they don't give out trophies for games you coulda won so they'll need to actually win games. Moral victories in losses don't mean much at this point.93henfan wrote:Just dreadful goalie work by the Flyers tonight. The game winner that Boucher let in to his right was completely inexcusable. I think the Hawks should feel good for winning the game, being out PPd 4-0, and had same amount of shots as Philly
The Hawks need to work on tightening up the blue line, they let Philly skate in at will. Also need to close on the points better, Philly was bombing shots from deep all night and had 2 guys cleaning up
All in all, ugly game for Chicago, no power plays, top line awful, BUT we win!!

Uh, everyone's saying how the Sharks competed and played the Blackhawks straight up, too...how'd that series end up again? The Hawks just seemed to find a gear the Flyers can't hit tonight. Everytime the O&B got up 1, they answered right back, then locked it down in the 3rd when they had to.
Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Finals Thread
It has to be Leighton in Game 2. Boucher didnt play much but on the Kopecky goal, he looked slow maybe telling us his knees arent healed

Carcillo in, vanRiemsdyk out, Parent also out after playing all of 41 seconds in Game 1. I for one, as a Blackhawks fan, am happy to see Carcillo in for JVR. What's your opinion on it??

Philly playing more defensively but Chicago has broken through twice in Period 2. Carcillo has surprised me with his play, mostly positive from him, top lines quiet again, Hossa easily the best player on the ice. Niemi 3 GREAT saves to keep the Hawks up!

Listened to an interview with Dustin Byfuglien mother and her boy friend Dale Smedsmo (WHA), and a nice column in the strib. Buff is getting a lot of press in Minnesota.

Ten years ago, Cheryl's son was flunking out of Roseau High School. Hockey had come naturally to the big teenager. It's all he wanted to do.
Yet, her son was academically ineligible to play for the storied Roseau Rams, and completely bored listening to teachers, doing homework and taking tests.
So Cheryl made the toughest decision of her life. She let her 15-year-old son move to Chicago to play midget hockey. Way back then, Cheryl never could have imagined that a Chicago Blackhawks playoff hero would emerge from that excruciating choice.

Tough game last night. Fairly balanced first period, Hawks outplay Flyers most of second, Flyers pour it on in the third. Hoping change of scenery changes series.
