Eisenhower was a champion of civil rights in the 50's but the Democratic Congress stiffled him. Even Kennedy and Johnson met opposition to their civil rights efforts from a Democratic Congress and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 had 37% of Dems voting NO as opposed to 20% of Reps.

Not sure how that could be. Remove the African American vote and McCain beat Obama straight up. Obama had 15,000,000 MORE votes than McCain in the AA subset, and won the election by 10,000,000 votes, implying McCain beat Obama by 5,000,000 votes in the rest of the country.

This is a pretty neat graph the NYTimes put out. Shows that Obama ruled the first time voter, African American vote and the "not a high school graduate" vote.

Whites HAVE been removed. A white man may never win another presidential election in this country.

That's what happens when you trot out Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II in succession.

Well, using that yardstick, then we most certainly won't have another Black man ever elected either. He's worse than all those yahoos put together. I'll see your :coffee: and raise you :coffee: :coffee:

And losing another 10-15% could turn the next election.
Haven't read everyone's post, Jon, but according to the poll between 2006 and now, the Reps haven't "lost" any of the 22% self-identified Republican hispanics, the Dems gained 8% more self-identified Dems...

...i.e., like AZ said, there's a younger demographic of the 20% undecided hispanics "publicly" who've aligned Democrat. That's neither surprising or indicative of failed Rep. policies.

One could argue that the "motor voter", ACORN, and ESL projects supported by Dems and socialists to generate the under-80 IQ demograph have finally paid off.

In other words, "Republicans Losing Lower IQ Voters in Big Numbers"

As witnessed by Obama running away with the "Not A High School Graduate" demographic, 63-35%.

They were Dixiecrats... and most joined the Republican Party as soon as the Civil Rights Act was passed... some hung around longer... but, only a few. 90% of Southern Democrats voted against it. 100% of Southern Republicans voted against it. 94% of Northern Democrats voted for it.

Notice what party all those Presidents you list were in. :coffee:

Do you seriously believe that all of the efforts put forth by Democrats for Civil Rights has nothing to do with blacks voting overwhelmingly democratic since then?
