Should Cal Poly Get a Seed?

Assuming they lose to Wisconsin, they'll be 8-2 (with the McNeese game canceled), with losses to Wisconsin and Montana, and an FBS win against a San Diego State team whose only win this year will be against Idaho. Honestly, I'm not sure how much that win helps them. Their lowest outing in points all year was 28 against Montana, and they've scored at least 42 in the past 7 games. Wisconsin is a middle-of-the-pack Big 10 team, but in theory should rout Cal Poly. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see that game be close late in the game.

Obviously if CP beats Wisconsin they'll be one of the top 4, but if they lose, then what?

I don't see Cal Poly getting a seed unless they beat Wisconsin. Even then, who do you knock out - Weber over Montana? Cal Poly over Montana?

If they get a seed, then the door is open for Montana to get one (i.e. head-to-head less important than ranking). I think Weber will be the only Western team to get a seed, unless they lose to EWU (Go Eags!!!), in which case I think Montana gets the seed...

no, they lost to UM and they play in a conf with 4 teams. going 3-0 when season ends in conf is a joke.

Same here, if they were to beat Wisconsin then they deserve it over UM, Villanova, UNI, SIU or anyone else. I think Weber deserves a seed as well barring a loss to EWU. If Cal Poly loses to Wisconsin then I think a seed is out for them and it leaves the coin flip between the other teams listed.

If losing to the badgers hurts cal poly what does it mean for weber having lost to hawaii and utah? does that mean weber would be ranked in the top 2 if htey had beatn an fcs' instead of losing to 2 fbs'?

Weber St. would have been ranked much longer in the year as well as much higher right about now if they had played only one FBS and won against an OOC FCS.

Losing to Wisconsin won't hurt Cal Poly, it just won't help them, either.

As for Weber, it depends on who the hypothetical FCS win would have been against. James Madison has by far the best resume, so they're a clear #1 seed. Weber may deserve a #2 seed, but probably won't get one because of App's recent history.

Losing to Wisconsin won't hurt Cal Poly, it just won't help them, either.

Agreed....App's history gets them the #2 seed, particularly with their only FCS loss to JMU.

cal poly should get a seed partly because my tbirds are another GWC member . They deserve it. They barely lost to #5 montana and then have dominated everyone ever since. They should get it regardless of if they beat Wisconsin or not, its an FBS school so it really wont matter unless they upset the badgers

I realy think Poly could win. the badgers have some impressive wins and some very unimpressive losses.
