Is it God's Will to not find a solution to the oil spill?

Post by mainejeff »

I've been wondering if God is "teaching us a lesson" by allowing this spill to reach its worst case scenario? Is he trying to tell us something? Is it the beginning of the end? Just wonderin'..........

Your question is so fu*king stupid you should be happy anyone responded in the first place.

We could stop this leak anytime we wanted to but people like you would want an EIS and a list of people to blame if the attempt failed.

This takes time.

I don't think you are serious with your question, but I will answer.

NO.

Man caused the spill due to their own free will. In other words, we got ourselves into this mess all by ourselves.

This could have happened anytime on any oil rig near our coast. Machines fail when man doesnt properly design them, maintain them or we over extend their limits. I have no idea how either BP or the govt. will stop the leak and it seems like options are running out. But I feel for the people of the Gulf Region and the damage they are experiencing to their land , economy and their recreational areas. It is criminal by any stretch of the imagination.

Hey Aristotle, what logic did it take to vote for W, twice and McCain/Palin once?

My son, a second grader, asked the same question. Here's what I told him.

"As you get older, and read more, and learn more, and understand more, you will understand that you cannot grasp what the will of God is by so narrowly trying to define God's will by reference to one single event. You understand God right now in child's terms, like mythical super hero in the sky, and it is this limited understanding which creates the premise for your question. Your question demonstrates a second grader's grasp of theology. But when you grow up, you will hopefully understand that the force which created us, redeems us, and sustains us is something far greater and beyond anyone's ability to completely grasp. Asking a question like this is an attempt to limit God to the simplest terms which you can understand, given your limited world outlook and understandings, and limited education."
