There's a lot of variance on this, all of which is bad, IMO:

1. Mandatory membership.
2. Voluntary membership with the proviso that non-members must pay a fee to the union.
3. No union.

It ALL sucks. Unions play too many political games and don't do anything for the honest worker who gets screwed by the employer before probation ends. I should know. It happened to me.

Unions should be banned.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Nonsense. About 10% of US workers are unionized. If you don't want to deal with a union, do like 90% of US workers and don't have one. Got one and don't want it? Vote it out. It's very simple, there is no reason for all this sniveling and whimpering over 1 in 10 workers. :ohno:

BS. Its about 1 in 8 workers, over 12%:

And in the 28 non right to work states the percentage is much higher. If you want to be a public school teacher in any of those states you are forced to either join a teacher's union or pay union dues.

12%? OK.

My point remains intact. Obviously the majority of those 12% like having a union or they would vote it out. :coffee:

Want to be a public school teacher (right) and hate unions? Hell, you got 22 states to choose from, wonderful states to live in, too! No need at all for this crybaby business. Now dry your eyes, Nancy, and let's turn that frown upside down. :thumb:
