CBS Refuses to Air Ad About Democrat/Union Thugs

Post by travelinman67 »

CBS refuses to air "anti-Democrat" ad critical of vote that denies workers the right to a secret ballot during union organizing votes...

...just more of the leftist, socialist, Anti-American, thug/crime mob boss mentality to be expected by the Pelosi, Reid, Dingell/Conyers/Levin pack of lying liberals.

With the communist liberal elitist pigs at CBS running interference for the criminals...

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7h6n5_job-ad_news

...cool thing is, in Texas, where the unions have announced they're going to try and get a foot-hold...if someone steps on your property and threatens you, you have the right to defend yourself with deadly force...so all those union thugs who are dumb enough to go the "no" voters residences to intimidate and threaten them...may wind up in a box underground. Good news is, their union benefits will probably cover their burial.

It is 100% a tool to make it easier for union organizers to identify who opposes certification, and pressure them to sign the card, and bypasses the requirement for a secret ballot.

Most union organizers are lawless crooks who should be jailed and kept out of the main population. And I can say that with 100% confidence, as I deal with organizers from all over the U.S. on a regular basis, and I WAS A UNION ORGANIZER AND FOUNDED A UNION when I was younger. Fortunately, the agency I was organizing was all on board, so there was no need to "pressure" or "intimidate" anyone. I know folks in the business, however, and they are as mean and lawless as a Moveon.org employee. Violence, property damage, intimidation of the worker's spouse and children...everything was employed.

REALLY!

Which has been my point from day 1. Some workers genuinely benefit from representation, but if the representation ONLY sees the situation from the employee's side, to the detriment of the business, then sooner or later, the employee ends up losing something, possibly their job. One of Ceser Chavez's favorite speeches implored the workers to stand up and organize because "...America has to have fresh fruit and vegetables to live...", implying some things can't be imported or outsourced. Well, Cesar's body wasn't cold before we were shipping fresh fruits and vegetables from S.America, Mexica, and SE Asia...including lettuce. Every time you see or hear of a hard goods manufacturer operating under a signatory agreement, you should also hear a clock ticking. As you point out App, the problem isn't necessarily with the sole "issue" of being organized and the resulting base costs, but in dealing with the unions who are routinely mismanaged, crooked, and in most cases, ineffective (The worst of which is the Teamsters...if the whole lot of middle and upper management was thrown out, and PROFESSIONAL, EXPERIENCED labor representatives were hired, the entire transportation industry could save billions). One of my areas of expertise is in MOU's and methods of calculating/accruing benefits. Regionally, certain unions (trades) operate under MOU's that are particularly difficult to administer. Methods for determining eligibility, anniversary dates, or simply basic calculation methods, are often poorly designed, outside of industry standard, and absent of flexibility which results in the employer having to resort to "all or nothing" applicability. For example, employees who violate terms of employment or are unproductive, are shielded from "normal" disciplinary action, forcing the employer to either bite the bullet and absorb that bad employee, or lay them off for a period of time and try to shift their job duties to other workers. Neither method benefits either the employee or business. Well drafted agreements provide for specific employer remedies, allowing union representation of course, but not relying on case law to define job duties and remedies. Reasonably eliminating "gray area" in an MOU provides a better working environment and more production. Anyway, I'll stop as this is an area that's near and dear to me.

As for the scope of this thread...within the context of our current economic conditions, the ingredients for a cataclysmic storm are both present: A dangerously precarious recession bordering on depression is coming along at the same time America elects a "union lackey" President, who's signaled the unions they'll have free reign to sh!t all over industry. Unfortunately, the "heat" cooking this concoction is the unions coming out of a 7 year hibernation from Bush running roughshod over unions: The union bosses want to "even the score" at a time when industry can't afford it.

Bottomline...be prepared for a clashing of industry and unions, with many businesses being forced to shutdown or leave the U.S. (which will only make the situation worse).

You're exactly right. The only comparable in workplace ineffeciencies I've ever observed outside of that union plant are within my wife's current job with the State....and the Teamster's had them beat...I was constantly having to answer for a frivolous grievance and/or negotiate with union rep so a crappy worker could continue to have a job to lay out on.....it was ridiculous, and all you need to see is the difference in the american auto industries of Michigan, Ohio, et al vs te foreign auto industries in SC, Bama, et al.....

Patty Loew: Thanksgiving traditions all based on myths
By Mike Ivey
Everything you know about the “first” Thanksgiving is wrong.

Plymouth Rock.

Pilgrims.

Perseverance.

Big feast.

Happy Indians sharing in the bounty.

It’s all bunk, except maybe the part about eating turkey. Early settlers were so hungry they ate about anything with fur or feathers.

Otherwise, there is little connection between reality and the version of Thanksgiving events still taught in most schools.

That point was hammered home Sunday by award-winning filmmaker Patty Loew.

A member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, Loew was the keynote speaker at the third annual “Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration” held at Lakeview Lutheran Church on Madison’s north side.

Loew said the problem with the traditional Thanksgiving story is that it plays to the American version of history where peace loving English settlers tame the wilderness and survive attacks from the bloodthirsty Indians.

“It’s the quintessential American holiday,” she said. “It involves escaping danger, surviving in a harsh environment, carving out a new life.”

Unfortunately, Loew says, the whole Thanksgiving story is nothing but myth.

In reality, the Indian tribes living along the Eastern seaboard had been decimated by disease in the years preceding the storied landing at Plymouth Rock in 1620.

An epidemic of bubonic plague, most likely brought to the New World by European fishermen in 1617, had killed an estimated 90 percent of the Native population by the time the Pilgrims landed in Massachusetts.

“What the settlers found were empty villages with crops still in the field because the Indians had either died or left,” Loew said, quoting a version of event laid out by author James Loewen http://www.trinicenter.com/his…..giving.htm.

The more religious of the settlers — only 32 of the 102 who landed at Plymouth were actually Pilgrims — thought the existing villages and cleared fields were a sign that God was providing for them.

Other settlers took to digging up the graves of Indians, picking through the housewares, blankets or weapons buried with the dead.

“So the first Thanksgiving in America was actually held by grave robbers,” Loew told the crowd of more than 200.

Loew challenged the audience to tell the correct version of events and think about what it means when they celebrate this Thursday with family or friends.

“We’re not just talking about feel good history, but history that reflects the truth,” said Loew, a longtime local TV anchor who serves as associate professor of life sciences communications at UW-Madison…

If the crops were still standing in the fields and they were robbing graves, why didn’t the Pilgrims get the bubonic plague?

What would we ever do without associate professors of life science like Ms. Loew and “authors” like Mr. Lowen?

For the record, here are some other titles from this “author”:

Jesus, Z. Most of the time you're pretty cool, but travelinHate comes in the room and you become a complete asshole. What gives?

Guy's a windbag of ultra-rightist refuse who doesn't help himself Googling every f*cking thing he posts. And it's all fringe sh*t no one gives a f*ck about, least of all him.

And, when I was schooling you the other day, what did I say about the two groups sharing some of the same values? Diference between you and I, I'll admit to it.

I share lots of the same values. There. I said it. But you guys discounting everything T-Man says JUST because it comes from T-Man gets old. Real OLD. 95% of what he posts has merit, but you're too blind with your conkhate to realize it.

Take off the hate blinders, really READ the message, and you'll see that most of it falls into the "we share the same values" message you're constantly blathering on about. :D

Bullshit. You are the last person on this planet who would admit they're wrong, despite a frequent need to do so. Make it personal; Attack the source; Mock the method; but avoid factual, honest, intellectual debate.

You and your twin, Tweedledum, can rant all you want about "Conk...blah, blah, blah..." "Hate...blah, blah...", "Tman...blah, blah, blah...", but unless you're prepared to bury your head in the sand and remove yourself from reality, these voices are only going to get louder. Sorry bud, but for all of the great Americans I speak of daily, you wouldn't have a G.D. roof over your head and your brother wouldn't have job processing the ag that comes from pesticide cleansed/fertilized/American machine plowed farms.

Let me say this clearly and slowly...if it were not for all the hard working Americans, generations of which you now slander and accuse of humanitarian atrocities, thoughtless greed and selfishness...you and your brother would be living in a gutter.

Your welcome.

You're welcome? You're a fukcing parasite beancounter living directly off the same capital?

Anyway, John Galt is ultimately a destroyer... :geek:

The people/corporations you revere are also killing our planet and creating the catastrophy of overpopulation. We're starting to see the endgame. Time to throttle back, Chief.

She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

From today's Chicago Tribune
The Employee Free Choice Act would allow unions to create local bargaining units without winning the vote of a majority of workers in a secret ballot.

The local unit would be certified if a majority of workers endorsed it by signing an authorization card handed out by union organizers.

Fair enough? Not really. The so-called card-check bill would not protect workers and it would not be "free choice." It would strip away their right to vote in secret, making it more likely they would face intimidation from organizers and other workers. The pressure would be on to check the card, whether or not they actually wanted a union.
...
The inaptly named Employee Free Choice Act would be good for labor bosses. But it wouldn't be good for laborers.
