Interesting take. You could make an case for legalizing crack with that kind of thinking. It's not the crack that's the problem, but the residents of your state, with their desire to get high for cheap that's the problem. 8-)
Or another take is, if God didn't want me to have an abortion, he wouldn't have made me pregnant....god forbid we hold people accountable for their decisions....

I agree in theory. How would you enforce the laws against users in practice, appy?

If you're talking about crack, I wouldn't have the law, but place restrictions on availability & establishment locations (you know, sort of like a "bar"). With regard to abortion, don't have to worry as there isn't a law...

Now, about those home repossessions....

Well I'm not. I haven't been to Walmart but about once in the past 5 years. And then ONLY as a last resort after every other possible option didn't have what I was looking for.

I refuse to give Sam Walton any of my money. :coffee:
You prefer to give it to republican politicians who then give it to Sam.

If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Don't like WalMart, be sure to patronize the local shops. Don't want them in your town, then create zoning laws to inhibit their ability to locate there. But once in town, don't blame them for the demise of the locally-owned business as you "roll back" for the discounts on everyday goods...
I've got nothing against Walmart, but to say it wasn't them that put the other ones out of business is folly.

I don't donate to political campaigns. It's a horrendous waste of my money. :coffee:

Agreed, 89Hen - I completely agree

America is "designed" for Wal-Mart...
The death of middle America and small business is only a byproduct of the American-ization process

We are becoming exactly what we've ideologically asked for all along - more bigger - more cheaper - more faster
and politically we've greased the skids for GIANT corporations to provide that for us -ASAP-

But now we're having second thoughts, and wondering how we slow down the McDonald-ization 44oz coca-cola machine rolling through our little towns... Too late: We've sold our souls

I don't disagree in theory. But the fact remains, no matter how much cheaper, bigger, faster, etc WalMart becomes, they do not exist (& put other locally-owned businesses to pasture) without a conscience decision by those consumers who also happen to be neighbors of those local business owners. That's not the fault of WalMart, they're merely providing a service & product to the consumer....
