Yeah, when you just put a blob of obnoxiously bright red on there with no detail or end-zones, of course it looks gay. The red that they are using is much darker than that. Pay attention. But thanks for the , you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

From what I understand, it will fade a little, but not so much as to drastically change the color. Trust me, the concern has been brought up before.

Exactly. From what I have heard, the little fade that will happen over the life-time of the turf won't even be noticeable. It'll have to be replaced due to wear and tear long before it will lose it's color.

Turf Cam


Well the sand looks to be done, all that's left is the gravel and laser-leveling before the turf is rolled out. A fun little tidbit for Griz, Sac, NAU, ISU, and SUU fans:

Jones averaged 6.1 yards per carry at home on the grass surface of Woodward Field, but that was boosted to 8.2 in EWU’s other eight games on fields that featured seven artificial surfaces as well as one grass field at Sacramento State with excellent footing.

And to rehash a comment from last year (don't remember who) that said his 87 yard run on his first carry against WOU was an anomaly and shouldn't be counted toward his rushing average:

In all, Jones had 14 plays (seven rushes, three receptions and four kickoff returns) of at least 38 yards in 2009, including nine of at least 50. Besides his 87-yard run, he had a school-record 96-yard touchdown run versus Idaho State and an 80-yard reception for a TD versus Northern Arizona.

It's not an anomaly when he does it every game.

That is all.

Well we finished up the prep work this time last week and have been waiting for the FieldTurf to get here. First truck arrived today, and they're rolling out the rolls onto the field. The other truck will arrive on Friday. About time!
