Red Sox Come Storming Back
Once left for dead in the American League East, the Boston Red Sox are now tied with New York and Tampa Bay for the most wins in the majors.

That's what happens when you play 26 games against teams with records of sub .500UNHWildCats wrote:Once left for dead in the American League East, the Boston Red Sox are now tied with New York and Tampa Bay for the most wins in the majors.

Re: Red Sox Come Storming Back
And 34 of the Twins games have come against sub .500 teams and 37 of Tampa's and 25 of the Yankees. And before you go saying that Boston playing 26 games against sub .500 teams is why they lead the majors in wins its important to point out in those 26 games they are an unimpressive 15-11. Meantime they are 26-17 against teams over .500 which is the best amongst those 4 teams...clenz wrote:That's what happens when you play 26 games against teams with records of sub .500UNHWildCats wrote:Once left for dead in the American League East, the Boston Red Sox are now tied with New York and Tampa Bay for the most wins in the majors.

Re: Red Sox Come Storming Back
Hook line and sinker, possibly record time, on that one.
You also don't hear me thumping my chest about the Twins do you? Do you see Willie starting new threads about the Yankees a couple times a week, or when someone goes to the DL/gets called up?
I would also add the difference in those two win % you pointed out it something like 57% to 60%

No because I know the Yankees are good, and so does everyone else. The playing field is pretty level this year. The Yanks, like many other teams, have been plagued by early injuries. I'll start worrying about the Red Cox in about August when we play 'em again.clenz wrote:You also don't hear me thumping my chest about the Twins do you? The season isn't even half way done, it's more than just a little silly to be talking about "storming back".
The Flyers "stormed back", as did the Lakers.

2 more losses though. Plus Boston will continue with their usual August-September choke/meltdown.UNHWildCats wrote:Once left for dead in the American League East, the Boston Red Sox are now tied with New York and Tampa Bay for the most wins in the majors.

Re: Red Sox Come Storming Back
The AL East race is shaping up to be historical this year. I think the Yankees may turn out to be the odd team out. Although probably the best of the 3 teams in terms of overall talent, they are also the team most reliant on older talent - and that might be the difference over a 162-game season. Some of the Yankees' older veterans have already missed significant time with the type of nagging injuries younger players are not prone to. The Yankees may ironically be built to win in October but not built to win the AL East.

He's going to get close to 200 hits this year; on target for 195 right now. He'll finish the year around .320 BA.AZGrizFan wrote:And this is the year I got stuck with Jeter as my SS on my rotissarie league.JoltinJoe wrote:The AL East race is shaping up to be historical this year.
