And before you go saying that Boston playing 26 games against sub .500 teams is why they lead the majors in wins its important to point out in those 26 games they are an unimpressive 15-11. Meantime they are 26-17 against teams over .500 which is the best amongst those 4 teams...

No because I know the Yankees are good, and so does everyone else. The playing field is pretty level this year. The Yanks, like many other teams, have been plagued by early injuries. I'll start worrying about the Red Cox in about August when we play 'em again.

The AL East race is shaping up to be historical this year. I think the Yankees may turn out to be the odd team out. Although probably the best of the 3 teams in terms of overall talent, they are also the team most reliant on older talent - and that might be the difference over a 162-game season. Some of the Yankees' older veterans have already missed significant time with the type of nagging injuries younger players are not prone to. The Yankees may ironically be built to win in October but not built to win the AL East.

He's going to get close to 200 hits this year; on target for 195 right now. He'll finish the year around .320 BA.
