People don't pay $30+ to see a fucking pitcher bat. DH should be in both leagues.

They also don't pay $30+ to see a .240 singles hitter bat, yet you will see them in many games. Maybe they should have 9 fielders and 9 DH's.

We can also have 9 pinch runners too, that way we don't have to pay $30+ to watch guys who can't run the bases.

There are several National League "players" that can only hit, so what's the fucking problem? clenz named off a few, but there's way more.

And no, I wouldn't pay a $100 to see a game. I sat in the 2nd level at Yankee Stadium 2 years in a row for under $40.

it takes a whole lot of guts to pitch in the AL. clemens, pedro, etc pitched inside (which is what you have to do in order to be successful ) and threw at guys for YEARS and never had to step foot in the batters box. GUTS i tell you GUTS!!!

im sick of the attacks on Ortiz. Yes he plays DH, but he is as good a first baseman as most of the average defenders at 1B and is better then a lot. Just this week he made some very nice plays at 1B and made a crucial play in the 2004 World Series at 1B.

yeah....he's REAL nimble around the bag. he's a dh and could not play everyday in the field. that's why you're stuck with his fat ass......NO ONE in the League that plays ACTUAL Baseball wanted him.

Who are "people," Willie? The rare time I'm able to afford going to a game, my favorite things to watch are baserunning strategy and P-vs-P at-bats.

I don't think he's probably as good of a first basemen as most. That's why the Red Sox will never be able to get rid of him. He's not even listed as a backup at 1B on the depth chart at ESPN.

Barring that, I think during interleague play, the rules of the visiting team should be in effect...that gives the fans at the home team something different to see (DH in NL stadiums...pitchers hit in AL stadiums)

That's already happened this year. The Phils were the visiting team AT HOME for an interleague game.

That's already happened this year. The Phils were the visiting team AT HOME for an interleague game.

The best part about the Jays-Phils series his weekend, other than the Phils taking the series, was when the Jays ran onto the field to start each game. Usually, the Phils' PA man gives an exuberant, "Ladies and gentlemen, your two thousand ten Philadelphia PHILLIES!!!!" and the crowd goes wild. For each game in this series, the same guy said, almost deadpan, "Ladies and Gentlemen, the two thousand ten Toronto Blue Jays" and to the Phils fans' credit, there was not a raucous "BOOO" but rather just an ambivalent murmur. Fuggin' hilarious. It was too damned hot to boo this weekend.

Seriously, are AL pitchers carried out to the mound before the start of every inning? Now because they need to run 90 feet they are all of a sudden prone to injury? Heck, if John Kruk could play both in the field and run when he was playing, I would expect a person in the prime of their life and supposedly an athlete to be able to run 90 feet. We make grossly obese old people take stress tests on treadmills in doctor's offices that do more strenous work than Buchholz did in this case and they don't pull up lame. No reason not to be in shape like that.

Oh, and the DH blows - it pretty much cuts out 90% of the strategy in a baseball game. My 4 year old could manage an AL game with DH's it's that easy.
