Brock Lesner
Brock Lesner

Re: Brock Lesner
Nothing more than a pro wrestling reject who thought he was NFL material. I guess the third time had to be the charm, right? It's amazing how soon glory comes to MMA "starlets." He's going to blow out VERY soon. I seriously doubt he'd beat Shamrock or Gracie in their primes.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Re: Brock Lesner
How is he a pro wrestling reject? It seems to me that he had a decent pro wrestling career, not that it (or the NFL) has anything to do with his MMA career.SuperHornet wrote:Nothing more than a pro wrestling reject who thought he was NFL material. I'm also not sure what your comment regarding glory means? I don't know if Lesnar beats Shamrock or Gracie either, but I think he is the real deal. After seeing the highlights of last weekends fight I have no doubt that he can take a punch. He is also a former NCAA wrestling champ, so I know he can handle himself on the mat.

The sport has evolved well beyond what it was when they were in their prime. I watched Gracie from UFC 2 back in about 1989 on through present day. Their are very few that could compete from the early years with those that are there today.
I love the guys from the early years but if you think for one second that you can throw out a couple of legendary names and hinge an argument on it then you are a quintessential dumb fuck in this aspect as well as the litany of others you have proven yourself in.
Shamrock fought at about 200-205, Gracie at about 175-180 and you are trying to say that they would get in the ring and stand up to these giants? Lesnar is 265 lbs. ripped. He can counter and defend the submissions and fucking crush skulls while doing it. Carwin is the same story. These are not the one dimensional fighters that Shamrock & Gracie were fighting 20 yrs. ago.

Re: Brock Lesner
I think I heard an interview on the radio with Lesner once where they asked him why he left the WWE. He said he realized it had gotten so out of control he wouldn't even let his own son watch it. He knew it was time to leave. I don't see how he's a reject SH. Go back to watching your power puff football.

Re: Brock Lesner
I don't have anything to add to this thread other than to say that Brock Lesnar is one bad-assed name. I really wish I had changed our family surname to Lesnar before we had kids and then named one of our kids Brock. Live and learn I guess.

Kinda funny that Lesnar has ties to the ND area. I know that Dana White went out to visit Lesnar in ND a few months back and I think in the interview he said Brock has a house or some property there.BigSkyBears wrote:Carwin is a Greeley native. Too bad he lost. He'll be back.
Carwin is a total bad ass and we will see those two go at it more than once. They are both wrecking machines.
There are a lot of ties to FCS schools in UFC. Josh Barnett former UFC Heavyweight Champ )UM), the ones previously mentioned and also Chuck Lidell from Cal Poly.

Well you're different. You know the value of both the leather and the lace. Hen's one dimensional and only dresses in the lace. Regardless of their perceived lack of intelligence, I'm sure most of them could figure out what's wrong with this sentence, given enough time.89Hen wrote:MMA is rough, no doubt. Yeah, Carwin is also a volunteer wrestling coach at UNC. My sister went to school with him at Greeley West. He was one year a head of her. Also, my friend is best friends with his wife. They got a VIP trip to the fight in Vegas and partied with Carwin after words. My friend said Carwin didn't get hurt much and looked fine at the after-party, but Lesner had to go to the hospital for stitches. LOL.

Didn't go check the exact date of it's start as it wasn't that important to the point but I do remember it was in Denver Colorado. That whole area of time kinda melted together for me.BDKJMU wrote:UFC 2 was in 94', not 89'Ursus A. Horribilis wrote: You're a **** fool and you don't know ****.
