I don't think the religious right really gives a crap about economic policy any more. As long as the queers aren't getting joint checking accounts and hospital visitation rights they are happy.

The gays are the Religious Right's worst nightmare.........Pwns wrote:I don't think the religious right really gives a crap about economic policy any more. As long as the queers aren't getting joint checking accounts and hospital visitation rights they are happy.
*They don't have sex to procreate.
*They are wealthier/more economically independent from both church and government.
*They don't depend on religion to create their own self-worth.
Basically.......they can't be seduced by the church as easily and are able to see through the B.S. that religious leaders heap upon their sheep.

With a gay brother and several queer friends and colleagues I'll have to make one observation... whenever a conversation comes up about the gay community I generally agree with most of the assumptions above.mainejeff wrote:The gays are the Religious Right's worst nightmare.........Pwns wrote:I don't think the religious right really gives a crap about economic policy any more. However, I generally like to add that since gays are more likely to be "out" in the professional community than in the blue collar one, it is really impossible to say really where gays actually fit economically. There could be a whole nation of gay rednecks and bubbas making minimum wage out there and we would likely never know it.
The other thing is that as "independent of government" as many in the gay community like to think they are, the gay community is one of the most vocal when it comes to government protections. Nobody has a monopoly on that. No community at all. Everybody wants government to do something for them, whether it is special federal level legal protections, or bans on gay marriage.

I think you're confusing this God fella' with the people who claim to represent him. I've read some of his stuff, and lots of it doesn't jibe very well with the message they're projecting.Chizzang wrote:Pwns wrote:I don't think the religious right really gives a crap about economic policy any more. Dear lord... please allow this dangerous combination of hair spary, bat slobber, and D.O.T. four automatic transmission fluid to excite my mind, occupy my spirits, and enrage my body, provoking me to kick any man or woman in the back of the head regardless of what he or she has or has not done unto me. All my Best, Earlie Cuyler.

Well, he is a little busy, or was at one time. With all the creation stuff, and laying the groundwork for armageddon and all that endtimes stuff is pretty complicated. Lots of plates spinning you know. So you can't blame him if he used a dictation service.kalm wrote:I thought he used ghost writers?death dealer wrote: I think you're confusing this God fella' with the people who claim to represent him. And we all know how bad those guys can screw up a dictation, and that's with 2010 technology. Imagine how bad that 5th century BC stuff had to be?death dealer wrote:Well, he is a little busy, or was at one time.
