Wolf hunt recommended upped to 186

HELENA - State wildlife officials will recommend increasing the quota of wolves allowed to be killed by hunters this year to 186, compared to 75 in last year's inaugural hunt.

The increased hunting quota could decrease the state's wolf population for the first time since the gray wolf was reintroduced to the Northern Rockies in 1995.

The Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commission will meet Wednesday and Thursday to set the parameters of this year's wolf hunt. The commission started taking public comment in May after approving quota alternatives of 153, 186 or 216 wolves - targets the agency estimated would reduce wolf numbers in Montana between 8 percent and 20 percent.
"What I'm saying is: You might have taken care of your wolf problem, but everyone around town is going to think of you as the crazy son of a bitch who bought land mines to get rid of wolves."

HELENA - Montana hunters will be able to take more than twice as many wolves in the upcoming hunting season as were allowed last year.

The five-member Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commission decided unanimously this morning to increase the number of wolves that can be harvested this fall to 186, up from 75 last year.

How about this Wedge. Just got off the phone with the FWP folks and they are saying that if I buy a wolf tag and good-ol-turd bucket Malloy puts protection in for the wolves they will NOT be refunding any wolf tags.

:ohno:

What a great way to piss off a bunch of people that may not already be pissed about the wolf situation.

And if little judgie-boy does stop the hunt I sure hope that when he gets into his car to leave he sees this in the rear-view mirror.

Didn't Molloy uphold that the wolf hunt could proceed last year? Don't get the vindictive nature of this post so I must have missed something along the way here.

No fees, nor wolf tag required in Wyoming, again.

Idaho/Montana won their cases and Molloy was forced to let the hunt go through while Wyoming wanted to implement a shoot on sight year round season, which is RIGHT, like coyotes and gophers and such, and it got denied. The enviro-wackjobs like dback sued again after changing some wording and whatnot and the whole thing went to court a couple weeks ago and now it is going to be decided upon by shit-for-brains, again because he is the resident eco-supporter. GOD I hope he tells the eco nuts to go jump in the Locksaw during flood stage with concrete bags tied around their ankles.

Heard from a few people that have attended all of the court stuff that the eco-fucks want to fight this for as long as possible. I think they want to tie it up in the courts for as long as possible and cause Molloy to decide each and every year hoping that they win one of these. Not like it matters any, there are plenty of folks that are just taking this into their own hands and solving the problem in a hush-hush way. If you leave it up to the inept people at the FWP to solve this growing problem it will never get anywhere while Decades of hard work/time/money are being wasted in a couple short years.

It started out as 30 pairs and 300 wolves as the limit and now it is over 50 pairs and 500 wolves and growing all the time and it is still not enough.

Here is what shit-stains want. Wolves to be endangered and not hunted, EVER. That way when elk/deer etc get down in numbers they can restrict/outlaw hunting of them. Pretty soon all animals are not allowed to be hunted and they win.

I thought you were disappointed in no "sanctioned" wolf hunt.... I always assumed you were abiding by the ssssssss law.

Dude, I'm missing something here. I'm only talking about Molloy and not all the other stuff. The case was argued in front of Molloy and he passed the decision didn't he? He was the lone judge and it wasn't a jury was it?

If that is the case then I think you may be misguiding anger toward the guy that let the hunt happen when it should rightly be aimed at the enviro groups.

I just am not sure how the last decision was arrived at as per my questions.

Good to see the results of my niece's summer job, which involves counting and tagging wolves in Montana. :thumb:
