This is absolutely insane. This "special" that aired showed his DIVA status and every way shape and form. Not only is it disgusting what LeBron did it is downright shameful. What an extravagant and unnecessary way to say screw you Cleveland. That is not that thing that makes me the maddest about all of this. It is the fact that ESPN used the "Boys and Girls Club" as cover for it. It would be one thing if the organization was centered in this, but that was not the reason why people watched. The viewing all wanted to know one thing and one thing only, where was he going? It would given the "Boys and Girls Club" a much needed exposure and showcase what good work they do. IMO, Denzel Washington would have been insulted and disgusted by this. For the casual fan, it just proves in their minds, how selfish and obnoxious ESPN and LeBron has become. There are absolutely no winners in this hyped up, overdramatic, spectacle.
I can care less where he went it was just the fact that he had to have this extravaganza just to say, in my own words, "F-U Cleveland, I'm going to South Beach". You can have done this quietly and it would have been just as publicized as it is now. The Miami Heat has just become the most hated NBA team. Congrats, I hope that was worth all the drama. It would be hilarious if they don't win the NBA championship. Miami will turn on a dime when LeBron doesn't perform up to expectations.

We should never be surprised by this.
It was bound to happen.
It's just like most "break ups".

This is just a new level "me"dom that I fully expected out of Kobe. Then again, he has won several NBA Championships so it wasn't necessary for him to do it.

Re: My opinion about the Lebron fiasco
Why was it bound to happen? And it wasn't like most "break ups". Most free agents simply sign with their new team, they don't have hour long specials on ESPN. LeBron has taken narcissism to a new level and ESPN helped him do it.TigerStripe wrote:We should never be surprised by this.

Nobody looks good as a result of this.

Re: My opinion about the Lebron fiasco
The reason I said it was bound to happen was that one side (Cleveland) really wants him to stay.
It's kind of like an old girlfriend who really doesn't think it's over yet; she'll do everything to keep the relationship together even if it means making it into a bad break up.

But lots of cities have reluctantly lost star players to free agency, nothing like this has ever happened before.TigerStripe wrote:The reason I said it was bound to happen was that one side (Cleveland) really wants him to stay.

Reggie White left the Eagles and was still loved in Phila after he left. Of course, if he had a LeBron/narcissistic type ESPN hour long special announcing his decision that might not be the case.

Hmm, Cleveland or South Beach...
Touch choice - but you're right, quite a wretched way to screw over Cleveland...
