No New York, Boston, DC, Dallas, or LA.

This is an excellent list! :thumb:

Odd list, Busch at #10 I don't think is anything special. Only newer stadiums except Lambeau on the list. Would think if they're going newer stadiums how could the new Cowboys palace not be on there??

Seems like a strange list to me. Dare I say midwest bias? ;)

7 baseball stadiums. :coffee:
Besides stadium experience, teams were also ranked based on:

Bang For The Buck (BNG): Wins during the past three years (regular season plus postseason) per revenues directly from fans, adjusted for league schedules.
Fan Relations (FRL): Openness and consideration toward fans by players, coaches and management.
Ownership (OWN): Honesty and loyalty to core players and local community.
Affordability (AFF): Price of tickets, parking and concessions.
Players (PLA): Effort on the field and likability off it.
Coaching (CCH): Strength of on-field leadership.
Title Track (TTR): Championships already won or expected in the lifetime of current fans.

So this isn't a ranking of stadiums. 8-)

The team, cost and amenities are part of the stadium experience, it's not just judging an empty arena.

Meh. Regardless of the fact the freaking Pirates play there, PNC Park is the best stadium in baseball.

Here's MY (admittedly mainly WCB) List, which will include at least one Does Not Exist:

1. Petco Park
2. The Diamond, Lake Elsinore
3. Texas Stadium
4. Stockton Arena
5. Grape Bowl, Lodi (OK, it needs a lot of work.)
6. Fenway Park
7. Lambeau Field
8. Mile High Stadium
9. Riverfront Stadium
10. Tony Zupo Field, Lodi (Could also use some work.)

Caveats:

1. Nobody said these places HAD to be major league-calibre. In fact, I'd take The Diamond over several MLB parks.
2. I'm a bit biased for my hometown stuff. LOL. College bowl games HAVE been played in the Grape Bowl.
3. I love the Cowboys, but can't stand Jerry Jones, so the NEW place doesn't go on my list.
4. Texas Stadium and Riverfront are the only artificial turf parks on my list. My favorite teams overcome my anti-turf bias.
5. NO DOMES!!!!

Riverfront Stadium? Really? There were nearly identical stadiums in St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Philly. Why was that particular cookie cutter your favorite? And a random minor league stadium as your #2? WTH?

In the spirit of your list, I just came up with my own.

1. My backyard.
2. My kid's tee ball field.
3. My high school football stadium.
4. My high school baseball diamond.
5. The Tub
6. Bob Hannah Field
7. The UD football practice fields.
8. Rullo Stadium (UD field hockey)
9. The basketball court on Queen St in Dover where you can watch a pickup game or buy a vial of crack
10. Olympic Stadium (Montreal)

I like your list even though you left out the Roman Coliseum. I've played at # 9, I didn't think it was that special at the time.

93: If you've ever been to The Diamond, you'd know it's not a random choice. Any SD-based Pads fan will tell you that it's one of the most beautiful diamonds around. There's a reason they put their High-A affilliate so freaking close to home.

I liked Riverfront because that was the stadium I first saw the Reds at on TV. It seemed like a really nice place. As you should know by now, I'm pretty myopic when it comes to MY teams....

That said, from what I've seen in still shots, perhaps the best stadium I've ever seen that didn't make this list but probably should have is WA-Griz.
