Barring injury, Brees is way too good to let a "crash" happen. Once again, he'll prove that the idiots in SD made a huge mistake letting two HOF-caliber QBs get away practically at the same time for that do-nothing idiot who came in with a bloody chip on his shoulder, one step to the good side from Ryan Leaf.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Again, huh? Is the second HOF caliber QB you are referring to Doug Flutie? Wasn't he like, 42 years old when the Chargers released him? And seriously, it's not like Phillip Rivers has struggled for the Chargers - he's even played well in the playoff losses they've had - can't blame it on him. Are you related to the Brees's at all and hence your apparent hatred of Phillip Rivers??SuperHornet wrote:Barring injury, Brees is way too good to let a "crash" happen. Gannon: No, I'm not related to Brees. I'm just reacting to A. the way Flutie was treated his entire freaking career (for years he was "too small," then he was "too old" to be any good) and B. the way Rivers waltzed into SD like he owned the place having done NOTHING at all. I'm flat-out embarrassed that anyone under the tutelage of Mike Canales (the best offensive mind in the history of football) would have an attitude like that. Brees did good things in SD (and would have continued to do so) and Flutie WOULD have had the idiots running the show given them half a chance. SD management has proven themselves time and time again incapable of holding on to decent people; in fact they force them out the door WELL before it's time. Case in point is local product Junior Seau, who management arrogantly proclaimed "done" ten years before he retired. I believe that all three (Brees, Flutie, AND Seau) claimed post-Chargers Super Bowls.
THAT's my problem with Rivers. He's just THIS side of Leaf, and he'll never win anything due to that bloody arrogance.
