It's precisely the same question, but you don't know enough about the subject to understand.

By the way, the right shoulder of the aforementioned is more than 50% complete. If the S&P 500 drops below 1020 and you're still in the market, you will have deserved to lose your ass.
Pepsi spiked up this morning, I'll keep it until my gains diminish to $500, then I'll sell. After the Obama taxes the gains heavily, there won't be that much of a difference in my net profit anyway.

Anyone also want to put in an opinion on mutual fund JASBX? Appears to be mostly of treasuries, AB-Inbev bonds, and municipal bonds.

Please explain how my risk is being "managed" when the firm that sold me this thing doesn't tell me they're betting against it themselves. I'm all ears.

BTW, I haven't been in the market for almost a decade now. Anybody who stays in a rigged game is a sucker.

Here is the advice I got from a guy I work with who knows a lot more about retirement than I do
I think as long as you are with the company, you cannot move your money out of Fidelity into another facility. However, you can sell everything in your portfolio and leave it in cash (money market acct) within Fidelity. You will only get like .1 % interest, but if you are looking to park your money and be super safe, then that is a good option. You can then just reinvest again when you feel more comfortable. Then there are bond funds which are much less risky than the stock market, but have a little volatility. I would think those would be your 2 options. You are also able to call fidelity and discuss it with them as well 800-544-6666. They can make suggestions as well.
I for one don't give a crap if I don't make any money, just as long as I don't lose 35% off my 401K, which is the only retirement I currently have. My wife rolled her IRA over into gold when it was $875 and ounce and we are keeping that there.

Better be payin' cash then, because you'll have a hard time finding a lender to loan you money on land right now.

I already have land and am long out of the stock market. I'm just suggesting those who have it backwards need to cash out and buy land.

Everything is lining up for a crash - we apparently had a Hindenburg Omen the other day.

http://www.thestreet.com/story/10835851 ... inent.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It may just be the summer doldrums, or the ominous occurrence of a Friday the 13 in mid-August, but the Hindenburg Omen -- a technical indicator of an impending stock market crash -- is suddenly as important a market mover as testimony from Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke.

The blog Zero Hedge, writing in a vein that seems made for professional boxing or WWE pay-per-view event hype, describes the Hindenburg Omen as "Easily the most feared technical pattern in all of chartism (for the bullishly inclined). Those who know what it is, tend to have an atavistic reaction to its mere mention."

In case you hadn't heard, Thursday's action on the New York Stock Exchange registered a technical anomaly known as the Hindenburg Omen. Read: just like the doomed German airship, the markets are fated to crash and burn. Still worse, Wednesday's trading action almost sparked Hindenburg Omen conditions. It takes two Hindenburg Omen trading days within a 36 day window to trigger the end of life in the markets as we know it.
Rolled all of my 401K into a money market account. I am sitting this one out until after the election. For those who think I am nuts, my return on investment this year with my 401K normally diversified: - 0.7%

Why do you insist on speaking about things you don't understand and aren't capable of understanding? By the way, the right shoulder of the head & shoulders pattern is still forming. The left shoulder and head have formed in textbook fashion. Thank you, President Obama.

Here's what the head and shoulder pattern looks like:
Image

This is what the stock market looked like before the huge crash a couple of years ago. A few months ago... it looked like this pattern was forming again and moron technical analysts like CitadelGrad jumped on it and started preaching that the stock market was about to collapse. The thing is.... it didn't turn out the way they predicted.... and it's grown several shoulders since then.

Image

As it turns out..... the stock market goes up, down, up, down, up, down, quite a bit... well, pretty much all the time. You can look at any time period and find a "Head and Shoulder" pattern if you want to.

Here's just all the "Head and Shoulders" patterns in the stock market since January. You could continue this back in time ad infinitum. Orange and red are ones that have already passed. Blue is probably one forming now... that CitadelGrad is sure forecasts a crash in the stock market.

Image

CitadelGrad has been saying for 4 or 5 months that the stock market is on the verge of crashing again........ But, it never happens. Keep taking him seriously if you want.

Jellybelly is just one of those guys who thinks he's smarter than everyone else. When he begins to realize that he isn't, he lashes out with words like "fuckface". If he had any idea how much he doesn't know, he'd be so embarrassed that he would slink off and never return to this board. The thing is, he is incapable of feeling embarrassment, just like most narcissists.
